Had someone side swipe my passenger side mirror and knocked the mirror glass out of place. Dealer said the mirror glass is on national backorder with no date for availability. Does anyone have any ideas for a replacement or temporary fix? Really don’t wanna drive around for an extended amount of time without the side mirror glass. Thanks!

Back in the day we could just go to the glass shop. They'd take a copy of the unbroken side reverse it and what I'd call an artist would cut it out, smooth the edges and glue it on the mount. The problem with that is today these mirrors have blind spot sensors in them and that option is a no go.

Why couldn't you just have a piece of glass cut and leave the blind spot stuff out? Be a temp fix, keep you legal and it's better then nothing. Tell the insurance company there paying for it as well.
