2022 ST. Just over 60k miles

I have a new deceleration vibration occurring. It’s felt throughout the entire cabin. I let off the gas coming to a stop and a wave of vibration happens. I’m not sure if it’s drivetrain or exhaust. When I shift into neutral it goes away. I just had a new rear driveshaft installed under warranty to remedy a pulse vibration while driving 45-55 mph. This is something else. I’m hoping for some insight before I bring this problem to the dealer once again. It seems like exhaust, but I’m not sure. It started when the weather got cold in Wisconsin, but not sure if that’s related to the issue. It certainly doesn’t seem normal.
Anyone have an issue like this?
Thanks

Ford and these shakes (had it in my edge ST in the 40-50mph and my F150).

Thanks for the input! I’ll read through and determine what aligns with my issue. It really feels like exhaust, but could be any random drivetrain issue as well. I’ve put 3k on this used explorer and can’t believe how wacky this transmission is. Dealer says it’s normal. If this is normal shame on Ford. It Shifts great, then does something strange. Sport mode downshifts are random and abrupt in the lower gears. A new rear driveshaft helped with some of the shakes. Now I have this vibration that’s simulates the engine dying when rolling to a stop. Strange. I’ll take a look at the flex pipes. Possibly get it in for the 60k maintenance and let the dealer dig in. I’ll update as well

Update I guess: I got my ST back today after it sat in the dealer’s queue for 4 days before a tech looked at it. Can’t really narrow down the problem, but it exists. “ Might just be the way these are” he said. He did drive it and supposedly had it on a lift to inspect the exhaust. Didn’t check the transmission fluid like I requested. $250 diagnostic fee and no clear solution. It’s going back in next week for a more experienced tech to diagnose for free after I pushed a bit.

-If it’s the exhaust, I’d like to know for sure if the downpipes and cats are ok. Then I would get a cat back set up at my expense. No way I would install another factory exhaust. Hopefully the next tech will take a better look. I’ve taken a look, but it’s hard for me to tell the condition of the downpipes or if the cats are shot.

Maybe a transmission clear and reset/re-learn?

This has been an irritating start to owning an ST.

I’ll update.

I hope it works out. If they don't find anything wrong with exhaust I'd change the fluids.

Update: A different tech drove my ST and confirmed the shifting is not normal. It’s been at the dealer a week and counting for a new transmission install. Turns out the 10r60 is very problematic. The newer ones from 2024 to present are better. CDF drum failure due to bad design. If you have an explorer from 2020-2023 with wacky shifts, it’s likely the issue. Look it up. Ford knows it. I’ll update further if I ever get my rig back.

Update: I picked up my rig yesterday and the new transmission is smooth. Extended warranty covered everything…good thing ($8000). I was expecting a transmission re-learn period, but damn what a difference. I still have some questions about what 10r60 version I got and programming. The build sheet was vague and the tech was busy. I’m glad the dealership listened and helped me. I probably bought a rig with issues that the previous owner traded in. Anyway, this cured a lot of the vibration issues. The stock exhaust will probably get replaced this spring.

It's crazy how the 10Rs have been all over the place in F150's, Stangs, and Explorers. My buddys 2023 had the 10R80 replaced at 10k miles. The 10R60 in my 2025 is a hammer in Sport, but even under full send, it shifts so nicely in Normal mode.

Just saw this thread. My ST has been in the shop (dealer) for same issue. It's a 2023. So far they replaced the transfer case, and now ordered a new transmission. 31k miles and not driven hard. Unreal. I told them to put a new motor in it and call it a 2026. Hopefully problems don't persist.

Thank you for letting me know your 2025 is hard in sport. I’m still trying to figure out was is normal lol. Hoping this thing will stay out of the shop for a while now

I agree and I hope you get some resolution with the new transmission. They put in a L1MZ7000T in mine. I have no idea when it was built. Fun to drive when it shifts nice :)
