Ok, backdate this to Valentine's Day...
Hi all! I am VERY excited to be here! After a long search, just bought my very first ever 'nice' daily driver. It's a 2021 Ford Explorer ST (duh), 20,007 miles when I left the dealership. They were asking $37k, got it for $36,500. After a LOT of research it looked like they should have been asking $40-$42k, at least here in the Minneapolis area. So in my mind, I fricken stole this thing. Very happy with that.
Got it in SE South Dakota, just over the border from SW MN. Turns out it's originally a Canadian truck. (It's a truck, right? Been struggling to figure out what to call this thing and I've seen many references to 'truck', so...)
Every single option, plus the roof rack which I didn't even realize it had until I got there and got home and realized it was an option. The massage seats are AWESOME, and as I understand it, correct me if I'm wrong but I think they stopped putting those in in early 2021. Mine's a build date of 2/21.
This thing is my new daily driver. Actually it will be splitting time with my very crappy '04 Sable that I bought as a beater work commuter, at least until it dies and/or breaks in half due to rust. The ExST I think is going to become my all-in-one vehicle, as it can tow our camper too. (19' Lance) Probably big enough in the back to do most stuff as well. It will never tow as well as my Excursion, or have that cavernous of a cargo area, but I think it will be plenty good and then I can sell the Ex which would be great.
There will be many, many, many mods coming on this awesome truck. It is amazing that it won't take *that* much in the grand scheme of things to make it as fast as my ex-supposed-dream-car Last Call Challenger.
So many questions, so much to learn, so many beef-up and hop-up parts to come, VERY EXCITED!
P.S. Also I talk too much so thanks in advance for putting up with me on these forums.
Home in the driveway in Minneapolis far-north-suburbs. (Can't wait to take off those stupid window guards and the bug deflector. Pretty stoked about the factory/Ford splash guards though.)
Next day after coming home with it, all cleaned up.
