Hi everyone, I’m trying to retrofit a European-style rear fog light on my 2025 Ford Explorer (U625). The physical wiring is done but the IPC dashboard indicator will not show up when pressing the fog switch and the foglight dosnt work. I activated all related functions in FORScan, but the indicator still doesn’t appear.
Here is what I have already changed:
BdyCM (regular config): Fog Lamp Switch = Enabled, Fog Lamp Switch Type = LIN, Fog Lamp Usage = Cornering, Left and Right Front Fog Lamp Usage = Fog and Cornering, Using Front Fog With High Beam = Inhibited, Using Front Fog With Turn Signal = Allowed. Rear fog output is wired directly to the BCM C436 connector and works electrically.
BdyCM (AS BUILT): I tried editing 726-17-02 and 726-26-02, but neither will accept new values. Any modification results in “Incorrect checksum” or “Writing blocks failed – incompatible configuration.” These blocks seem to contain the IPC telltale logic for the rear fog lamp, but I can’t get them to accept changes no matter what.
APIM: APIM – Trailer Check for Fog Lamps = Enabled, IPC – Rear Fog Light Indicator = Enabled. However, enabling this does not produce any indicator in the dashboard. APIM Country Code is still set to US, because changing it breaks other functions. On the 2025 Explorer, there is no standalone IPC module in FORScan, so cluster logic seems to be handled via CMR/SCM/BdyCM.
Current situation: The rear fog lamp itself dont work when the switch is pressed, and the dashboard indicator never appears. I suspect the required bit is inside 726-17-02 or 726-26-02, but I cannot write to these blocks due to checksum or configuration mismatch errors.
Does anyone know the correct AS-Built values for these lines, or how to properly enable the rear fog light indicator on the 2025 Explorer platform? Any help or hints would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
