I tried opening my moonroof a few days after having latest recall and tire pressure monitor sensors replaced, also oil pan and transfer case seals replaced. I'm not sure if recent service performed had anything to do with my moonroof failing to close completely do to loss of memory. My moonroof is not closing all the way so I tried to initialize it per the only procedure I could find on You Tube. This is an old video from 2022, I'm looking for a new improved procedure.

This is different than the Explorer 2020 procedure, but I'll give it a try later. Thanks for the reply Wafer Tech.

I have a 2020 and mine had an issue about 2 hours ago. I went to go grab some food and I vented it in the upwards position before leaving. I went through the drivethough and back home and then proceeded to close the moonroof and it closed halfway down and then i heard a "crunch" and then re-opened fully.
Luckily i had seen that video you posted about a week ago and i just performed it on my explorer and was able to successfully close it.
Now, if i vented it open again it does goes up but upon closing I still get that crunch and back open it goes.
Re-calibrated it once more. Sliding it open all the way there's no issues with it closing.
I'm confused as to why mine is giving me issues with venting. I'm out of warranty now so I guess I won't be using the vent up option now :(

I rarely use my moonroof and wonder if lack of use can cause stickiness in the seals and affect the operation of parts movement. I'm waiting for more replies before attempting any repairs. I have an extended warranty and will call a service advisor for advice.
