If you buy a Livernois handheld tuner and plug it up to the computer, allow it to update and register, never use it in your car, and go to sell it for a discount to another ST owner, the new owner will have to pay livernois $300 to unregister and re-register it. Even though it has never touched an OBDII port nor has it been on the inside of the explorer.

Thanks to LADMarines for chatting with a livernois spokesperson to get the information. Sorry about the tuner. Hope they hook you up.

I am in the works of purchasing one of these. When you say never used like never hooked to the explorer. Technically no i an not supposed to buy in Ca but talking to them they said they would ship me one. I am only here because of orders. I would be interested in this if it is definitely not linked to you explorer.

It's been hooked to the computer one time to auto update. It's never seen the inside of my ST. It's not VIN locked, if that's what you're wondering.
