When creating profile, is the key fob in use become automatically linked to that profile? What happens if a different key fob is used?
Do you have to have a Google account to use the maps?
Finally, is there something special that needs to be done to be able to receive texts and access contacts? The phone is showing on the screen.
I just purchased this unit with 12,000 miles. Should I have done a master reset?

Vehicle info would be helpful here as things are different between the years.

Or in your ford pass. They no longer print an actual manual.

I have a 2025 ST and use a Pixel 9 Pro phone. For many, many months I could not get the car and phone to work together; I would get an incoming call and could answer them with the steering wheel controls or touch screen and hear the caller but they could not hear me unless I was running Android Auto.

Also, incoming text messages would pop up on the infotainment screen but if I hit the "Listen" button the system would not read them to me. On the forum there were various suggestions of settings to adjust which I tried with no immediate results. Since I don't drive much and rarely get calls so it wasn't a big deal.

Then earlier this year all of a sudden everything worked perfectly; I could hear and speak to incoming calls and my Google assistant would read text messages and transcribe my spoken replies. I think this miracle happened shortly after one of the many automatic software updates but can't swear to it. Sorry I can't provide a specific solution.
