I need some feedback - because I’m old and still want the killer setups.

I have this black platinum (old picture) and thus far I have changed the front grill to the black timberline one, and am working on the rear hatch trim piece from satin stainless to black (like ST).

What are the groups thoughts on gloss black wheels on this thing? I’m torn between black and a satin finish aluminum.

My plans are 22”x10.5” +32. (Based on others I’ve looked at and like). I’m also considering the Steeda springs for a slight drop.

Please offer your thoughts and opinions freely. This is a big purchase and I want to get it right.

22x10.5 +30 is the perfectly flush setup that is perfect. Do you not want to lower the car too much? The Steedas barely drop the car and ride the worst compared to the other offerings. I myself would prefer satin black, doesn’t scratch as easily as gloss black.

Go for the black wheels. I’m not totally sold on the lowering springs. I bought a four wheel drive for utility. Not for a sport vehicle. As far as the wheels I would stay with the 21 diameter. You start going with a big diameter you start losing your height profile. Taking a chance on tire or wheel damage. I am 65 and own a 22 Subaru WRX GT and a 24 St-Line. Also proud to be an instructor for Skip Barber Racing School.

Correct on the lowering! My last 3 vehicles have been lowered and I just don’t think I can handle it anymore. It seems it’s always something… having to creep over tire by tire on large speed bumps, curbs on the front bumper, approach angles, etc etc

Thanks! I agree that the black is the way to go. Some of the aftermarket wheels in satin or polished look to flashy to me… I’m also trying to remove as much of the satin metal look on my car. Next up will be removing the roof rails… my thought on the 22” tire size would be a taller overall diameter tire than stock. To get some ride height back after the drop springs. I’ve read that stock 21” tire diameter is 30.6” OD. The tires I’m looking at are 305/40R22 which are 31.7” OD

Well the H&Rs or Eibachs don’t lower the car much more (I think it’s like .5 more for fronts and backs) and ride a lot better then Steedas. Steedas also have problems with their coating rusting out.

Yes, you do get a bigger tire. However, the lower the middle designation, the lower your profile. If that makes any kind of sense......From what I can tell it's a whopping 1/16th of an inch if that matters. I'm comparing it to a 21 inch wheel and 275/45/21 tire setup. Picky.......I know........I think you'll be fine in that aspect.
