How do you listen to audio files?

’21 ST here. How do many of you play music through the system? Normally, I use a USB stick, but I tried using Poweramp to stream from my phone and noticed better separation in the way the music sounded(if that makes any sense). I’m no audiophile, I don’t want to modify the physical system, I’m curious if there’s a way to reprocess the files or some other trick to improve the sound quality. On an aside, the best stock system I’ve ever heard was in my mother's Acura RL. It was a Mark Levinson system with DVD audio, my god, did that sound good.

I use an USB stick and stream from my phone using Android Auto. The files on the USB stick are mp3s, at the time I ripped them I was trying to save space.

I pretty much exclusively use a USB stick. Put all my music on one stick and leave in the USB port. When I rip music from a CD, I typically use the selection for the best quality. Don't worry about file size. I would think that would be the best quality you could get. The only time I Bluetooth from my phone is when I'm driving a car without Sirius. I've heard Sirius downgrades the music quality, which from listening might be true, Bluetooth or direct to radio reception.
