Hood closes hard

2025 explorer st, hood very hard to close
Does not close when dropped. I have to push it down and back at same time to close

Yeah, it does that. I let it drop, then give it a good shove to close it all the way.

Pushing on it is a good way to dent the hood. You should just be dropping the hood and it should lock. Adjust the bump stops.

I give mine a decent drop distance, and it is fine. These aluminum hoods need more height.

All you have to do is screw the bump stops down by hand. No tools needed and most certainly no dealership needed.

Not if it’s forcing the stops to compress more then they should.

I adjusted the bumpers so that the hood is perfectly flush with the fenders. I drop the hood from maybe 5” and I locks every time.
