Fuel Pump Control Module

Anyone know the location of our fuel pump control module?

Removal

All Vehicles

1. NOTE: The fuel pump driver module is located on the bottom side of the left front floor panel, above the sound insulation panel.
   For fuel pump driver module component location view.
   Refer to: Fuel Charging and Controls - Component Location (303-04A Fuel Charging and Controls - 2.3L EcoBoost (201kW/273PS), Description and Operation).

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
   Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation).

1. If equipped, remove the fasteners and position the front of the shield down to access the fuel pump driver module.

Standard fuel pump driver module

1. Disconnect the fuel pump driver module electrical connector.

​

1. Release the fuel pump driver module retaining tab and then remove the fuel pump driver module from the bracket.

Heavy duty fuel pump driver module

1. Disconnect the wire harness retainer, then disconnect the fuel pump driver module electrical connector.

​

1. Remove the fuel pump driver module fasteners, then remove the fuel pump driver module.

​

All Vehicles

1. Only if needed, remove the fasteners, then remove the fuel pump driver module bracket.

Installation

All Vehicles

1. Install the fuel pump driver module bracket if removed, then install and tighten the fasteners.
   Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)

Heavy duty fuel pump driver module

1. Install the fuel pump driver module, then install and tighten the fuel pump driver module fasteners.
   Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)

1. Connect the fuel pump driver module electrical connector , then connect the wire harness retainer.

​

Standard fuel pump driver module

1. Install the fuel pump driver module to the bracket until it clicks into position.

​

1. Connect the fuel pump driver module electrical connector.

​

All Vehicles

1. NOTE: The shield needs to be installed underneath the fender splash shield.
   If equipped, install the shield, then install and tighten the fasteners.
   Torque:
   1, tighten to: : 22 lb.in (2.5 Nm)
   2, tighten to: : 53 lb.in (6.0 Nm)
   3, tighten to: : 53 lb.in (6.0 Nm)

1. NOTE: The shield needs to be installed underneath the fender splash shield.
   If equipped, install the shield, then install and tighten the fasteners.
   Torque:
   Screw and washer, tighten to: : 22 lb.in (2.5 Nm)
   Nut and washer tighten to: : 53 lb.in (6.0 Nm)

Hey there!!
Did you find the FPCM?
Are there pictures in the reply above that haven’t shown up on my phone?
And when you say left front control panel are you talking about under the drivers side or passenger side?

Update!! Thank you soooo much!! We just saved a couple hundred and fixed it ourselves. Took about 15 minutes! The FPDM is in the same spot on the 2021 Explorer XLT in case anyone’s looking!
