Been a bit of an odd path to get here - from a Stinger GT1 RWD with JB4 and bolt-ons running map 2...to an Alfa Romeo Stelvio Q4 with bolt-ons and a Madness Autoworks tune....to now this bus I have unoriginally named "Big Red" lol. Not gonna lie, I'm impressed with this brick so far....for 5000lbs, it boogies.

For $60k though...why does it not have hydraulic hood struts? First time lifting the hood I damn near let it freefall because I wasn't expecting that frail little stick to be there. Found the kit to fix that, so probably going to be the first mod besides some H&R lowering springs to bring this rock crawler back down to Earth and fix that wheel gap.

Found Houston Speed Freaks on YouTube and turns out they are within an hour of me, so looks like I've got some local support, which is cool. Anyway, excited for this change...isn't as nimble as the Stelvio was, but it damn sure is fun off the line already (and the sound system is way better than that piece of garbage Harmon Kardon they stuck in the Alfa - probably the worst HK I've ever heard actually...my Kia before it had a better sounding HK system).

Welcome Aboard!!

My Dad was in the 101st Airborne in WWII and my older brother was in the 82nd Airborne in VietNam. I was in VP-17 P-3 Orions flying over the Territorial Waters, Republic of VietNam.
I salute you for your service, Sir.

"phuxtick":
Yeah, there is something about one of these "Grown Up Mustangs" (my wife's appraisal of the ST's) in Red!!! Your vehicle picture was slow opening and eventually opened after I had already sent my first reply. You made a great color choice!!

That Rapid Red is just gorgeous! I just bought a ‘22 and that was my first choice color. Just got too hard finding one up here in Detroit that checked the other boxes…ended up going with my 2nd choice (but still a classy look imo) in that cool grey. Nice ride, sir! Enjoy!

I almost got the grey one actually...but the sales guy worked some magic and got me this red one for the same price as the grey one (was about $1200 cheaper). This is the first colored vehicle I've owned since I was 19 lol...everything else has been black, white, or silver. Hopefully I won't attract cops haha

Nice, I deployed out with the 52nd Aviation Regiment back in 2008 - was with Task Force ODIN II/III out of COB Speicher. My grandfather was in the Navy, not sure which conflict though...he sadly passed away in the early 90's. Nice to see a fellow Veteran around.

Call me crazy, I’ve always preferred a solid hood prop like stock.

Decades ago, I got a speeding ticket in CA. One could take a “Why you shouldn’t speed” class to make the ticket/points disappear from your record. I only remember one quote from the CHP officer who conducted the class…

”We sit on the on-ramp and watch for red cars. Why? Because people buy them to go fast.”

:LOL:
