Folding side mirror shenanigans

Hello all, didn't see any existing threads on this topic so posting new. I've had my 2025 ST for roughly a year, ~13K miles, so far no issues until it started displaying some bizarre behavior on the passenger side mirror. Specifically, when i unlock the vehicle and the side mirrors unfold:
1) the driver's side mirror works as expected - mirror returns to previously adjusted position, electronic controls work as expected and allow mirror to be further adjusted within the housing in all 4 directions - up, down, in (i.e. tilted further in to show more of the side of the vehicle), and out ((.e. tilted further away to show more of the side of the road)
2) HOWEVER, the when the passenger mirror unfolds, the mirror itself is always adjusted to the furthest position possible away (i.e. practically showing me the right-hand side of the road, no portion of the right side of the vehicle visible), AND it cannot be adjusted further in by the mirror controls.

When this happens, the side mirror is basically useless and my only option is fold them back in (so I can reach the mirror inside the housing), then lower the passenger window, lean over and physically push the mirror to tilt it further in towards the car. Once i do this, i can electronically adjust the mirror a little further out (from its now manually tilted inwards position) but if I electronically adjust the mirror to be positioned with a view a little further out, I CANNOT electronically correct that and move it back in. Once I turn the vehicle off, park it and lock it, the passenger mirror reverts back to it's "fully extended" position when the mirrors fold in upon locking. If i restart the vehicle, have to go through the whole process over again.

I found a link on ford's website (ford 1 min video on "resynchronizing side mirrors") on how to "resynchronize" your side mirrors, which mostly consists of folding and unfolding them a few times. When i followed this, i was able to actually capture a quick video of my passenger window behaving bizarrely (video of side mirror having a nervous breakdown) where, upon unfolding, it appears to keep trying to adjust itself beyond the available range of travel and just keeps ratcheting against whatever internal stop it is hitting.

i suspect this will just be a warranty repair but my service experience at the local dealer hasn't been great so figured i would see if anyone has encountered this and been able to sort it themselves before i bring my car back to the dealer.

thanks in advance for any suggestions!
