I want to fold down the second row Captains Chairs to make a flat platform for 2 German Shepards behind the front seats. With the third row folded down, it would make a large flat surface in the back. I have some ideas on how to do it WITHOUT removing the captains chairs, but think I saw some posts about this in the Forum. Has anyone else done this and how did you do it?

Curious about people’s larger dog setups as well. Right now I have covers on everything in the back and it works well enough but I would love a large flat surface like you’re trying for

We haven't had to consider folding the captain's chairs but we are only having to transport one large dog. Our 116# Kangal Shepherd livestock guard dog travels in style with plenty of room in the back of the ST with the third row folded down. I have a WeatherTech cargo mat that covers the floor space, but I also added a Pawple padded mat on top of the WT cover that also covers up the second row seatbacks. In addition I have a wire barrier that straps to the 2d row captain chair's head rests in case the dog wants to come up front and drive herself. She easily learned how to walk up and down this ramp which makes getting in and out easy. I think two German Shepherds would fit, but it might be a bit snug so I can see why you're looking for more space.
