Dude wtf is up with this place I get it’s only 1 person but Brett knows how long it’ll take to get something out. So when he says 3-4 weeks and then I buy it and we’re going on week 7 and still nothing is crazy. I originally ordered the intake from lethal performance and they emailed me and said it would be 8-10 weeks I was like no way emailed Brett and he said 3-4. At least lethal performance is honest. I still would’ve bought it if he said it would be 8 weeks

You don't think he has those on hand, do you? He's probably parroting exactly what the manufacturer or supplier has told him. I'm sure he'd be happy to get it shipped to you.

Hand made parts take time…and that length of time fluctuates. Bitching online isn’t gonna make it any shorter.

I work in logistics for a two-billion-dollar company—I’m literally the tip of the spear. So I get delays and have to explain them to the receivers. If someone says 3–4 weeks and it ends up taking 7, that’s on them. That said, I also know there’s usually more to the story behind the scenes, and I may not know all the facts here. Sometimes people need to vent.

For example, my wife recently ordered my ST sway bar from Steeda as a Christmas gift. The site showed one in stock, but later they told her it was still in fabrication and would ship in 7–10 days. I told her, “Look, it’s a custom part and they actually communicated. If it hasn’t shipped after two weeks, then you’ve got a reason to get upset.”

Brett "is" the manufacturer! FenFab is not a drop-ship company like Leathal Performance. He makes these intakes himself. I highly doubt he lied about how long it would take. Shit happens and sometimes estimates are not accurate; sometimes not even close.

That would be my bad. My head didn't even go to his system, don't know why.

All valid points. I still would’ve bought it had he said it would be 6 months. His stuff is definitely worth the wait

I feel, all things being accurate, 3-4 weeks isn't 7 weeks. So I'd expect someone to be pissed. We've all seen/read about the forum favorite part shop that one day goes tits up and people get screwed. Not saying that's the case, but paranoia can set it in. Or there is the situation where you had two great choices, and the one you chose screws you on lead time—happened to me several times. And some online car parts people respond faster than others, which is what makes choice a great thing. I usually start with some email questions, and if there's no response within a week, no $$$.

Let's use ZFG and Goose Tune. Emailed both of them the same questions and got quick responses. That gives a sense of comfort right off the bat.

I don't blindly defend or attack parts people, especially in the online community. But it is nice to know when you order something, when you might get it. That being said, this is only 50% of the story, with a bunch of defending and soapboxing (myself included).

Brett is in no danger of going out of business. He’s still innovating new parts…just opened the pre-order on his billet 3.0 intake manifold yesterday.

And as I said, I'm not saying that's the case. But if you order something, and the guy says 3 weeks, and at 7 you don't have shit, it's a problem. I couldn't care less that everyone calls him by his first name, that doesn't mean anything. People are reliable, until they aren't. I'd like to hear the whole story before either is crucified. It's a transaction; I give you money, you give me a part in an agreed-upon time.

OP's post is probably a little overboard, but they are frustrated. Posters in here saying "no big deal, it's Brett" doesnt really help. Now if a member here does get screwed, please post. Helps me know where not to spend money. As far as this post, I like their stuff, I've read about it, and watched videos. This post hasn't changed my mind on their product. But I'd like to know more for sure. There are many more of these types of parts I want to buy.

Stick with off the shelf parts I guess…then you won’t have to worry.

Um, sure, that's still not the correct answer. When you order something, whether custom or not, the person selling it to you should offer a reliable timeframe; if they cannot, they need to do better. Double the lead time of what was given, IF TRUE, is not cool. OP sent money expecting a month, now he's almost at 2. Maybe he would have gone elsewhere, but now he can't. I'm not going to defend the guy holding the money.

This thread has become like FP Tune threads, where everyone runs in and all they can post is FP sucks get ZFG. So I digress. OP, Id recommend you call "Brett". If he can't give you a good answer, get your money back if you dont want to wait. Reading the original post, it seems like you want to wait, just mad at what was given to you. Its understandable.

I believe he welds each one of these by hand, and I'm pretty sure he does them in batches. Trust me the sound is worth the wait. The only weak spot I see is the 3D printed T. I really wish he'd figure out a way to bore the holes in the intake so that 3D T was eliminated.

With that said, mine took 8 weeks from order to delivery.
