I'm new to the ST world and was surprised to find out Ford does not provide a build certificate for the Explorer ST line and was wondering if there was any interest in trying to get Ford to provide one and if anyone knew someone at Ford we could reach out too. If you don't know what I'm talking about for many of Ford's special or high performance vehicles they provided a build certificate that tells you all the specifics of the car you own, how many in your color, with your options etc. As they say "it's suitable for framing " I have one for my Taurus SHO and my Dad has one for his Cobra. It's just something cool to have and maybe keep with the car or put up in your garage, but I guess it's possible our truck is not as special as we think it is. I found the website where you place a order for the ones that are provided, they had an email address so I sent an email asking if they are considering providing one for the Explorer ST, no telling if I will hear back but it's worth a try. I'm just wondering if anyone else has any thoughts, knowledge or would be interested in having one. I look forward to hearing your thoughts, have a great day.

out of 222,706 Explorers produced in Model year 2025 I can find no break down based on individual Models like the ST or ST line. these are pretty mass produced and I doubt Ford is inclined to do much in the way of mapping all this information.

IDK you could be right, but they built a lot of Taurus's and they built a whole lot of Raptors, so who knows, I also think it would be pretty easy to pull up those numbers and Ford will do anything to make a dollar. Having said that, I'm sure there is a reason they haven't done it already.

Really? It's an Explorer ST. I could see being interested in that for a unique model like a Ford GT, but not the ST. Not trying to be a dick, I'm just saying we don't really drive something that is special enough to have a build sheet.

LOL OK I'll put you down as undecided.

It’s a mid-level mass produced SUV with only a few options. In the 6+ years they’ve been out you’re the first I’ve seen even mention it. More or less…nobody cares. Even less for the ST Line.

Maybe "build sheet" is not the correct word but you can get a certificate that tell you how many of that color where built, etc. Honestly it's been a few years since I looked over mine for the SHO and I can't lay my hands on it right this moment. I honestly didn't think the SHO was all that special either but I thought it was a cool thing to have and there is a ton more aftermarket support for the ST then we ever had for the SHO.

On a completely different topic, your avatar looks a lot like an image Sturgill Simpson has been using lately for his tour and such, is that just coincidence.

Off the top of my head, Cobra, late model Mach 1, Bullitt, Focus ST/RS, SHO, Raptor, Marauder, GT, Shelby, Boss, SVO, etc. I might have missed one or two but its not like a super special club.

Since there about $50 for 50 cents worth or paper and ink, I'm pretty sure they would be fine with that.

I'd get one. Most of my vehicles are somewhat not your run of the mill rides.

LOL I don't know what qualifies as special, but I can't believe they built that many more Explorer ST's than Focus ST's but I could be wrong. I'm sure if they can make some money, then it would become special real quick. Pretty sure we crossed paths on the SHO forum your name is very familiar, did you put the SHO in Bravo status and bring up the ST as the primary transport like I did.

Yes, we both posted regularly on the SHO Forum. I still post there too, among others. I'm on a forum for all my rides.

I still daily the SHO, 210k on her going strong and still a blast to drive. Bought the ST for my wife because some idiot totaled my Audi Q7 and I like all wheel drive SUV,s that are fast lol.

Interesting, I had a 2013 SHO, only car out of the many cars I have had that I regretted trading in. I never had any such cert for mine, that I can recall, and I bought it new right after the dealer got it off the delivery truck. Still miss that car sometimes, more people asked about that car than any I’ve owned. ST is more fun but that SHO was a lot of fun to drive.

LOL They don't give them away, there's a web site you go to, fill in your vin number, give them $50 and in a few weeks you get your certificate. I really didn't want a SUV but Ford doesn't make cars anymore except for Mustangs and even if I didn't already have one I'm too old to daily drive a Mustang. The SHO's in the garage, she's going to get some more love one day as soon as I get the ST where I want it. I don't know if I think the ST is more fun, but it has more bell's and whistles and it's nice having something almost new for a change.
