Disable Auto Start/Stop on 2025 Explorer ST

A word of warning for the 4D Tech adapter, I bought one of these in September. I installed it and used it for about 3 months with no problem. I started seeing issues with the touch screen not working, remote lock/unlock not working, and the tailgate not able to go up / down. I removed the adapter and all of the issues went away.

Did you contact the company for support? There have been almost no complaints about them.

I had a 4D tech on my 25' and it lasted 3-weeks before it failed. By the time it failed, Autostop Eliminator finally came out with theirs. I bought the Autostop Eliminator and all has been well since then except for certain over the air updates messing with it to where you need to unhook the negative cable for a few minutes to reset it.

Yeah, 4D Tech seems to be giving me the run around on support. I won't make the mistake of buying from them again.

I can vouch that I have used AE on four different vehicles, and they have been great.

On my 2026 ST, there is no PSCM listed in the modules list so I could not try that method that has been successful for other Fords. The only modules that have any sort of setting is BdyCM and APIM. The BdyCM toggle for Auto Start-Stop does indeed work but unfortunately, the battery light is illuminated on the cluster. There are no DTCs triggered though and it doesn't seem like any other aspect of the charging is affected. I'm keeping it for now until a better solution can be found.

I've been using this one without any issues for almost a year on my 25
Plug and play, and it allows you to still activate A-S-S if you want to. It remembers the last setting and leaves it there.

Maybe I'm reading you wrong, but the Auto Stop Eliminator takes it out and works fine. Been on mine since I bought it. You dont need a tune, you just install the harness.

If you are a ForSCAN user, you can skip my post, lol.

AutoStop-Start Eliminator installed in our 2026 and it works perfectly. Initially, I had a small issue with a "Hill start assistance unavailable" alert. It took a couple of tries but the device works flawlessly now. Method has been described in other posts but bears repeating: Unplug the ASSE harness, disconnect the battery for 20 minutes, plug in the harness, and enjoy. Now the display reports "Autostop-Start disabled by switch." when the engine starts.

Found this thread by doing a search for "FORSCAN disable start-stop"

I'm pretty sure I have it figured out.
As others have mentioned, you have to update the PSCM [Power Steering Control Module].
BUT... There's no 'Easy' mode.
So just to be safe, I created a backup of the module before doing any editing.
After I was done, I took mine out for a spin using both 'Normal' and 'Sport' modes with no negative effects.
My ST is pretty much optioned up to the max, but without the 360 Cameras due to a recall at the time.
I confirmed that auto-cruise works fine, even the lane keeping still works and will 'nanny' you if you don't keep your hands on the steering wheel.

INSTRUCTIONS:
Open FORScan on PC

Turn Ignition ON. *NOT Start

Click ‘Connect to Vehicle’ icon on FORScan. *A Warning pop-up will appear, click OK

FORScan will show a list of Saved Vehicles or start a scan for a new vehicle

At end of scan will be prompted to ‘Save Vehicle’ if new

Click on ‘Configuration & Programming’ icon, below the Wrench icon.

FORScan will show ALL modules in both ‘AS BUILT’ MODE and ‘EASY’ MODE

Go to PSCM [Power Steering Control Module] > AS BUILT > ‘Run Service Procedure’ *Warning Pop-Up

FORScan will display all PSCM modules in hexadecimal format *Don’t change anything!

At bottom of screen choose: SAVE ALL > .abt file > Destination > Save > then STOP SERVICE PROCEDURE
*You now have a back-up of all original default settings in the PSCM modules if it needs to be restored.

Go back to PSCM [Power Steering Control Module] > AS BUILT > ‘Run Service Procedure’ *Warning Pop-Up

Look for:
OEM Setting
730-03-01 xxxx xxxx 013B

Change to
730-03-01 xxxx xxxx 003B

From other notes... Guessing:
730-03-01 >> Auto Stop/Start Section
00 = Disabled
01 = Enabled with Angle Inhibitor
02 = Enabled without Angle Inhibitor

Then in that 'block' select 'write'.
commanded to save, got a checksum error message and accepted that as OK
After it completes, you will be prompted to turn off vehicle and restart.

Click the ‘STOP SERVICE PROCEDURE’ icon. *Square Stop icon
Then disconnect from vehicle.
Go out for a test drive.
Confirm that everything is working as it should.
Auto Stop/Start should be OFF and STAY off without pushing button.
I noticed that when I come to a stop, the icon displays in the lower right dash area, but the engine does NOT stop.
