I have this problem, but its intermittent, will try the remedy in the video myself this summer.
I’ve seen this video. Is there any actual safety concern with this? Or is it just an annoyance? Because if all it is is just an annoying sound then that seems par for the course on this platform. You just have to learn to accept it, because most of us don’t have the time and money it takes to figure out what needs to be “fixed” on this car. Also, my clunk is more rear center drivetrain related I feel like. Feels like it’s coming from the rear diff, driveshaft, or inner cv axle on the rear. It’s not a “ting” noise, more like a low “dunk” clunk noise between shifting from park to drive, or from reverse to drive, and sometimes during gear changes. All my axles and power train fluids are good, clean, no leaks. I’ve upgraded the entire drivetrain and haven’t resolved the issue. I have JXB rear diff insert, AWR diff brace, HSF solid pinion bushings, JXB driveshaft carrier bearing, and JXB performance trans mount. Each upgrade just made the noise more “acute” or distinct. I’ve had it looked at by different people in different shops. Not a single diagnosis. This car has been a money pit and a headache and I’m slowly learning to just accept it for all the stupid noises it makes and I’ll just have to wait until something breaks completely in order to find out what it is that needs to be replaced..
