I am not happy my 2024 ST I just bought used in December it left me stranded stuck in park with no explanation. Day one I got in the SUV after work and it didn't start when I pushed the start button on first and second try but it started on the 3rd try and drove normal. Day 2 it started up but I couldn't get it out of park, it was telling me Pre-Collision assist is not available and auto hold system fault so I was stranded, luckily at home. It was cold here so I left it till next day. Day 3 it wouldn't start at all, no warning messages about battery ever popped up on the dash. I put a meter on the battery and it read 12.2v and when you pushed the start button it dropped to 11.5v. I jumped it and got it running but it still couldn't get it out of park so I used the override switch in the console and got it Fords Quick service for a battery. They say it may not be the battery, they have to do a 2 hr cycle test on it as required by Ford. I just don't understand how a vehicle this expensive and full of technology does not tell you what the shit is going on and your battery is not sufficient. It took me hours searching this site to find out there is a secrete override switch to get it in gear.

They say the battery has tested good. Now its waiting for a service tech to look into the problem. More error messages were sent while in the car was being moved to the service area. The same messages as before but a couple new ones

(1)Powertrain malfunction/Reduced power - Disagreement of the brake pedal position from the two brake pedal switches.

(2) Restraints indicator lamp warning - Issue with the front passenger airbag

Update on my ST problems. Day 6 dealer says my explorer is fixed come get it. They said the brake switch failed which he seem to indicate happens often. So when it fails it disables the ability to get out of park as a safety measure. Real nice, so you get stranded were ever you happen to be. He goes on to say he thinks the brake lights drained the battery causing all the weird warnings to go off, (I would have noticed the brake lights if they were on they were not but I did not argue). Whatever it sounded feasible until they bring the car. The explorer immediately texts me the Pre Collision Assist is disabled again and I show it to the service advisor. They take it back for further troubleshooting the next day.

Day 7 I asked my service adviser if they would replace the battery because it keeps getting drained somehow. Remember it wouldn't start be cause it was low and now Its been sending me messages everyday that its turning off remote features to preserve battery life. He agrees and says yes we think so also. At the end of the 7th day they tell me its fixed again. Just as I'm pulling in they text me its failed again during the final test drive. I don't what messages came up because I think they disable my text messages somehow or that's broke now also. This sounds like really bad news to me. I wonder if the frequent low battery has jumbled something up in the computer. Its closing time Friday and they are downloading the system diagnostics and sending it to ford for further assistance. I won't know any thing until Monday day 10.
