Body panels not in the correct condition before painting

I have, it's not soft and it's not thick. I can get a 90-degree pick behind it from the hole. It's panel glue. It is not evident on the left side you simply see the step down from one panel to the other.

every vehicle I checked at my Ford dealership had the foam around the tail light lenses on both top and bottom just like the OP Vehicle

I must not have gotten the deluxe package. Feel like I've geen cheated. ;)

Mine being a 2020 it seems the foam has somewhat degraded and therefore is more noticeable.

You must have missed it, it's not foam, it's panel glue. There is just a void behind two overlapping panels and glue has been pressed out there. It isn't thick, spongy or take up any real space. Sloppy? Yes, but not a foam filler.

it’s probably because of the color white. I wouldn’t sweat it everybody’s vehicle has it. (y)
