Auto->Manual->Auto modes

Is there a way to keep the ST from going back into Auto shifting after you enter Manual by using the paddles, other than hitting the M button? In my DDSRT, once you entered manual mode, it stayed there until you purposefully put it back in Auto by holding the up paddle. The ST will go back to Auto pretty much as soon as you put your foot on the gas. There are times, especially in traffic, where I'd like it to stay in the lower gear even if I'm accelerating lightly.

The tuner can adjust parameters to keep the timer longer before it goes back into auto through hp tuners
