Auto braking in reverse?

I'm not sure what this feature is called but wondering if there is a way to diable it?

When it activates it feels like I've hit something. First time it happened I was backing into a neighbors driveway I thought I ran over their kid or something!

Has anyone else experienced this?

Ha ha, that was funny. I experienced the same thing. I often drive with a bike rack on the back and have to disable this feature. On the dash, there is a button to the left of the hazard button. This turns that feature on and off.

Whenever I back into my garage, I hit this button.

Same happens to me. Freaks my wife and me out when it does that.
