Apple play constantly disconnecting from my 2020 Explorer ST

I have an Iphone 17 which I connect via cord to my 2020 Explorer ST to use Apple Play. It constantly disconnects itself. I was on a business call and it disconnected. It's extremely annoying. Anyone else having this problem? If so, were you able to fix the problem.? It's driving me crazy

Most of the time, it's not the car, but a cable or a dirty port. We had a new cable out of the box have issues with carplay. We managed to get it swapped by Tmobile and it fixed the issue.

Whenever I have random disconnects, I clean the port on the phone, and sure enoug,h chunks of lint come out.
