$680 bucks, a hacksaw and some wrenches gave me a great sounding ST. No drone in the cabin and a perfect sound note when getting on it, my neighbors dont hate me either!

The clamps that come with it are fine but at the joint id put just a little Muffler Seal by JB weld to keep small exaughst leaks at bay…. You could also weld it for a cleaner look.

Nice! Seems like a cheaper alternative for those that don’t want too much sound and don’t have downpipes.

Quite a few people. No benefits to running them except looks, with the exception of the Fenfab intake which adds some fun turbo sounds.

Great kit and a fantastic price. It has gone up over the last several years, but still a nice bang for the buck.

The u-bolt clamps stink though, and will make it next to impossible to get the pipes off if the need arises. I used some good step-band clamps and upgraded the bolts - about four years and no issues.

Well...I pulled the trigger on the 3" AWE cat back exhaust. I'm looking forward to so new noise from the ST!

Sorry to bump this old topic. What size band clamps would you say for the Gibson exhaust? 2 14in?

These are the ones I used on my 25. I only had the Gibson exhaust on for a couple months until I went with an AWE so I can't speak of the longevity of them. But at least you now know the size.

Appreciate that. What made you switch?

@Ryan Explores : I especially like the many positives points you are making with the Gibsons.

General Questions:
__Does anyone out there have any personal knowledge of the longevity of the Gibson axle back systems?
__How is Gibson as a company dealing with any warranty or customer service issues?

I have noticed that several of our members have started out with axle back Gibsons only to upgrade to the Thermals, AWE, Borla systems very soon thereafter.

In the end, the Gibson just did not deliver enough sound for me. I originally purchased the Gibson because, while I wanted to hear the exhaust, I did not want to annoy the family, the wife in particular LOL. But when she made the comment to me about it not being loud enough to hear, I said we can fix that and the AWE was ordered. I am not hating on the Gibson at all, I think it was well built and the install was simple. I also think if I had given it a couple more months of break in time, that it would have sounded a bit louder. That being said, I love the AWE. The sound is great and the quad 4.5" tips fill in the valance perfect.

So I actually went the other way. Got the AWE then went for the Gibson but not sure where to stay right now

What made you go to Gibson from AWE?

I thought the AWE was quite a bit louder then the Gibson exhaust but it seems that the AWE exhaust has better drone cancelling tech and might be my better option
