Hello! Have a '25 ST. The factory windshield wipers chatter (stutter, bump) when in use with the rain. I've had the vehicle with about a month. Rain sensing is disabled. I've also noticed the intermittient mode has slow wipes, compared to my prior Explorer. Maybe that is by design?

  1. Are others having a similar issue?
  2. Are the factory wipers garbage?
  3. Do you recommend RainX or Bosch?
What are your thoughts?

Thank you so much.

Same issue here even with high quality aftermarket wipers. A bit of polish on the windshield to reduce drag fixes the issue.

I hear you. This is not right. I just got off the phone with the dealer service department. They want me to swing by, since I just bought the vehicle.

Yea I had the same issue until I had the windshield coated. I did what you did and got aftermarket wipers and they skipped too. But all is good now with the coating.

Clean the blades with denatured alcohol and clean the glass dry with 0000 steel wool.
That should take care of it.

Or polish with glass polish and a wheel, like unbroken mentioned clean bladed with some denatured alcohol. You'll be suprised how black the rag or paper towel gets after cleaning the blades

Hello! I cleaned the blades yesterday. I ordered Bosch ICONs from Amazon. I am going to test to see if the factory wipers are garbage. If I get the same result, I will return them and hand the problem over to the dealership.

Again…clean the glass. Nothing is better than dry 0000 steel wool.
