Thanks ahead of time for any input any of you gents can help me out with!
I have a 2021 Ford Explorer ST had it for a lil over 2 years now 34k miles. Just like everyone else I beat on the truck here and there but for the most part just cruise I drive to work and home like 5 miles a day. I started having this issue mainly in the morning when i start the truck put it in sport and switch to Manual, take off from my driveway get like halfway down the block 2500-3000k rpm and when I shift into second get a big kick shift and the higher the rpm the bigger the kick. I notice if I take it out of manual and drive around a while I can shift back into manual and rip 1st,2nd,3rd etc no kick no issues. Rewind this to about 3 months ago I go to Ford in the morning to get a oil change and everything goes smooth I leave the dealer and I have my daughter with me so I'm driving in normal mode. I never do anything crazy with my kids so this in itself was just weird to me that the one time I'm driving normal this happens. I get about 10 blocks ish away and every time I hit the gas I hear a loud fluttering like something spinning freely. I drove back to the dealer and was like I'm not sure what happened I just came for an oil change and after driving x amount of blocks away something ain't right at all, I drove here fine and their is no way I can make it home like this. I'm under warranty till 125k or 2028 they take the car back call me a day later and say you spun a bearing need to get a new engine. They had my truck for about 5-6 weeks and after finally getting it back now I'm on edge wondering what else could happen because the car was fine when I drove to the dealer, not sure how getting an oil change could spin a bearing.
I have my car for about 30 days of regular driving hoping everything goes back to normal and on week 3 the trans starting not shifting, slipping and going into gear, or kicking hard as hell. From the park position I would sometimes shift into drive and the car automatically shift back into park saying something along the lines of "shifter not available" and same with reverse. When it did shift from Park to drive or reverse letting go the brake would not allow the car to roll I had to tap the accelerator and when I did the car would jerk 3-5 ft forward or back. Unfortunately I needed my truck to get around and driving in Eco eliminated all these issues which did not make sense either. The day I was driving back to the dealer to drop it off I was coming to an intersection to slow down and as I got to the center the trans starts clicking rapidly and engages the parking brake......now I'm stuck in the middle of the intersection the light turns red and here come the trucks making their left and right turns around me. After a bunch of attempts of getting this shit in drive I finally get the car back in drive slam the accelerator fly through this intersection and finally get to the dealer which was a block away. Same thing again speaking to a manager, cars running horribly you guys swapped my engine and 3 weeks later now my transmission wants to kill me. They take it in again and they have my car another 2 weeks. I get the call the trucks ready so this time I take an Uber to the dealer because the first time I got a rental for almost 6 weeks and I had to fight ford to give me my money back they actually wanted to give me less. I drove my truck from the dealer to my job & about 5 hours later I drive home and I'm going up a hill and all of a sudden I hear this large clunk and I'm like wtf now.....I get over the hill and now while driving 30 miles an hour the center console and passenger chair are vibrating to ALL HELL. I finally baby the truck home and after moving my car back an fourth to park I hear a noise like if you used bolt cutters to break a lock and after looking around I find a bolt on the floor. I get under the car with a light and I see my driveshaft only has 1 bolt on it. The next morning I have it towed back to Ford raising hell and again I get the we will take care of it etc etc etc etc they have my truck another 3-5 days and I get the call the truck is ready. They changed the coupler all new driveshaft bolts and their goes another Uber charge.... I drove from the dealer to my job about a 12 min drive and I can still feel the vibration slightly and in my head I'm so over this shit I'm just hoping it will go the **** away. I get to my job and make a uturn to reverse into my spot and now I hear this sudden metal to metal grinding SO BAD in either direction L/R and sometimes it felt like something was binding up and I had to hit the accelerator half way to get it to move. TOWED this fker right back again at this point I'm claiming negligence and the whole 9 I'm not even asking for a diagnosis I'm telling them what I want them to change
I want a new transfer case, change the puck again, all new driveshafts, all new hardware etc etc etc.
I got my truck back and its rolling onto about 3 months now of normal driving, the issues with 2nd jerking on the trans started at about 30k miles and I just hit 40k. In the morning's again im getting the hard jerking/shifting when shifting to 2nd. I already got a new engine, new trans, new transfer case, new driveshafts, all new hardware etc I don't know what else could be causing this, I drive way more calmer then before. Collectively they had my truck for almost 3 months, lost $300 on my rental, and had to take Uber three times only to send this bitch right back to Ford
