Hello Everyone,

I’ve recently started having a weird problem issue where after locking my Explorer it will start flashing hazards or on occasion the alarm starts going off. Has anyone else had an issue similar, if so any ways to fix it?

That usually indicates an error of some sort, burnt out bulb, locking mechanism is not working properly, or a door/compartment not closed. Do a complete top to bottom check.

We have one of our fleet cars ( it's an "active" trim model though, not a ST model, just FYI ) with less than 5000 miles on it that also does this with no rhyme or reason after it's been parked ( takes a varying amount of time for the "symptoms" to start showing up - this is with no persons or animals walking/creeping/flying near it, no keyfobs left in it, or any other variables, etc ). I personally think it's haunted or was built on a Friday LOL

It's been to the dealer multiple times with no resolution for this issue and has received computer updates from the dealer mobile tech as well; no DTCs or error codes present/stored or indicating anything - this was a VERY early '25 model year build car FWIW.

OP - if you ever find out the cause of your issue, please do share what your car's fix winds up being...thx !

Check if this was ever done to your 2020:

TSB# SSM 49914.
Summary
Some 2015-2021 Edge, 2016-2018 MKX, 2019-2021 Nautilus, 2018-2021 Expedition/Navigator, and 2020-2021 Escape/Corsair/Explorer/Aviator vehicles may exhibit an inoperative power liftgate. This may be due to the rear gate trunk module (RGTM)

Otherwise a shot in the dark, replace the liftgate module.
