My 2020 has a non functioning radio. Dealer says the ACM has failed and ordered a new one. Well it still doesn’t work. The dealer is perplexed and has been trying to get assistance from Ford engineers. My research has led me to believe that the new module needs to be programmed to my car before it will work. Can anyone confirm this to be true and if so how is it possible that the dealer doesn’t know this.

Could also be the DSP.

As far as programming, tis from the service manual:

ACM
The ACM requires PMI when it is replaced.
DSP
The DSP is a power amplifier for the vehicle speakers. The audio input signal comes from the ACM via the Automobile Audio Bus (A2B) cable. It may drive all speakers on a vehicle or share the speaker output with the ACM.
The DSP requires PMI when it is replaced.
