ST Team,

Can anyone tell me the difference between the 10R80 and the 10R60 in the ST?

I thought the ST uses 10R60 and the Hybrid EV uses the 10R80.

That is correct. Just trying to determine if the 10r60 has some durability or if its a weaker version of the 10r80

Most likely the differences is probably in the gearing. From what I've read they are the same transmission. The 10R60 is only found in the Explorer / Aviator.

Based on nomenclature alone, the 10R80 ("10" forward gears "R"ear wheel drive based, "80"0 (800) newton meters (590ft-lbs) torque rating) is a more durable version of the trans than the 10R60 (same as previous except "60"0 (600) newton meters (442 ft-lbs) torque rating). I'm sure the gear ratios are different as well, but I do not know anything about that.
