What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

For what it’s worth, i bought one of these plugs then got a harbor freight extractor/dispenser pump for like 120, and i will never go back to using the drain plug. Since the oil filters are on top you can change oil without a drop spilled with the extractor

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

Finally got a tune in! ZFG DMS 91 at 6,000ft altitude made almost 21lbs. She pulls hard. This is just the base tune and needs revisions.

HKS Blow Off Valve Filter melting

It wasn’t noticeable in the line i had to pull it out to see it. If you used the little spring clamps on it, it might be a good idea to just leave them off. Up to you of course

HKS Blow Off Valve Filter melting

Has anyone heard of the HKS vacuum line filter distorting? I had it plumbed and zipped in near the drivers side valve cover, kindof floating away from the valve cover. I figured it was plenty far from the header/turbo but apparently it couldn’t handle the vacuum line clamps with the heat. It was...

    2020 Explorer ST

I think lots of short drives with auto start/stop can drain the battery. With a new battery these warning from the ford app about preserving battery and disabling features went away. The other warnings i mentioned on the dash about awd stuff were all a ground issue at the AWD module

Reposting for visibility - Watch this Video. What is this sound?

So what did the problem or resolution end uo being? My 2020 is doing this now. Is it normal? My wife and I never noticed it before recently. Also only in sport mode. Car still behaves fine

Guide - Fixing AWD module ground.

I’m sure that would probably work, if you do it please let us know if that solves your issues

Guide - Fixing AWD module ground.

I agree with Oneill, I did try looking for a different ground point but nothing else seemed as permanent or reliable. I found that ground point because the original TSB from ford uses that ground point. It might be more work to find a ground at the fuse box under the left side of steering wheel...

Golden is a nice place to visit and the coors factory is there. I’m about 30 minutes from there. You have a good weekend as well!

Awesome glad to hear it! Also.. snow tires, snow melt on the ground, COORS, are we colorado buddies?

Guide - Fixing AWD module ground.

You might try just tightening the bolts on the module or backing them off and tiretightening them a few times and see if that’s good for a while before you can make time to do a better fix

2020+ Explorer front differential fluid guide

After filling, I lowered the car on the hydraulic jack and turned the car in “trail” mode so i could see the angle from front to back and left to right. I think i got them to 0 and 1 degrees as best i could and let the diff drain before lifting it back up to cap it and clean up. I think I put...

Transmission Fluid Change - Should I or wait?

It was my first time ever doing trans fluid so i was extra cautious, i think like 4 hours. Next time will probably take me 2. you’ll need a way to torque to inch-lbs. i had a 1/4” drive inch pound torque wrench but realized i didnt have a 1/4” extension for half the bolts after i was...

I'm using valvoline synthetic 75w90. I promise it's better than the magnetic mud that's going to come out of your diff.

New Battery - now having misfires

I was under the impression that if you reset BMS you don’t need to wait at all to drive. But if you replace the battery, and you let the car sit for 8 hours it will automatically reset the BMS for you. could be wrong but i’m pretty sure of that. The engine issues are not related to the battery...

    New engine

My gosh.. how does this happen? How does that get past quality control? Ridiculous. A lot of these technicians are really good, but the flat rate for warranty repairs often leave them underpaid for the hours they put in. Be sure to look over all your hoses and clips and trim pieces and make sure...

Guide - Fixing AWD module ground.

Very possible that’s your ground going out. unfortunately there are a lot of common issues that cause the same warnings on the dash. I’ve read about speed sensors and abs sensors causing these issues. As well as FADA failures causing it. It really needs some more digging into your codes and...

At least you shouldn’t have to worry about the oil pan for a while. I did my FADA upgrade last year and now it looks like my pan is leaking.
