What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

Looks good! I like your stripes!

The Explorer ST Engine Build Begins!

At what power levels do you think these should be introduced? As far as what's been talked about, these blocks have been pretty stout. I think you mentioned that the only part you were really worried about were the bearings which were susceptible to launches with low oil levels.

    Those Who Have Upgraded Turbos!

Thanks for the hits! No way I have the provisions for a DIY. Just checked out a second shop and was quoted almost half the price of the performance shop at $1480.

    Those Who Have Upgraded Turbos!

Hi All, Just trying to get a feel for installation pricing, time and technique. The one performance shop I contacted told me they would have to drop the subframe and engine to get to the turbos. Quoted a price just south of $2800. I already had an ST owner tell me he paid only $500 for his...

FS Stock Turbos - great for rebuild project 600$ shipped lower 48

Why aren't you sending these back for core charge reimbursement?

    650 awhp and 650 ft-lbs!

Ok. My plan is to go with the Stage 5 CRPs with downpipes on 93, then in the future, go with the pump, injectors and an E85 tune. Does that sound plausible?

    650 awhp and 650 ft-lbs!

Was getting ready to upgrade to Stage 5 turbos on 93DMS and an IC. Does this mean I need a bigger than stock fuel pump or can I run as is? If I need the bigger pump, does that mean I need injectors too?

    Window Oddity

Good, I'll try that next time in. Thanks Dale5403!

    650 awhp and 650 ft-lbs!

I thought it was because full torque and full HP usually occur at different points along the RPM band. It looks like a good crossover point wherein the torque hands the job right over to the HP. Between the 2 of them, you've got a good linear source of power from 3k to 6.5k.

    Window Oddity

It has occurred a few times that when I put the passenger side window up, it would automatically go back down about half way. Is this an anomaly or a feature?

    Downpipes

That CTsv must have launched on a 60 stab though!

    Downpipes

Agreed! My brother-in-law has a C5 that has 850 to the wheels. On a cement hwy, it would plain light 'em up going 100mph in a manual 4th gear. Just sick!

    Downpipes

I know, right? It was pretty much done and I didn't have the $ to restore at the time. Just about everything I've had since would do circles around it. Not to mention what it's worth would be today though. I like the '68s with the hideaways.

    Downpipes

I left my last V8 when I got rid of my '70 GTO. Since then, it was a straight 6 with the Supra and 2 Ford V6s. I feel more of a victory when I blow away a V8 with this 3 liter 6. :)

    Downpipes

Again, agreed! I'll have to price coating and weigh the differences.

    Downpipes

Sound reasoning. It appears though that the heat shielding gives full coverage. Take a look. https://whoosh-motorsports.myshopify.com/products/whoosh-motorsports-catted-304-stainless-downpipes-2020-explorer-st
