Safety Recall 22S27 Rear Axle Bolt Fractures

I have never taken mine in for the recall since it is a worthless fix. I always press the e-brake button anyway. I always assumed if the recall is installed that you could still release the e-brake first before driving away. Are others seeing that you have to press the gas in gear to get the...

Secure Code door keypad may be deleted

I really don't think Ford has any interest in changing to a stick-on keypad. The dealer will add the stick-on if it did not come from the factory with one wired in. They have a forty year history with the built in keypad and are proud of the flush mount they now use. I was not aware there...

Secure Code door keypad may be deleted

I like mine too. Interesting that the dealer add-on one that GM sells for their cars uses the same set of extra numbers for opening doors, hatch, locking, etc. as Ford does.

Secure Code door keypad may be deleted

Everyone has their own opinions on what they use and like, and what they don't. That is the way it should be but I have read surveys of Ford owners where most say one of the features they really like is the door keypad. It does set the Fords apart. GM since about 2015 has offered a dealer...

Secure Code door keypad may be deleted

I also don't like the hidden design on my 2022. It shuts off after exactly five days, and the buttons are not very convenient to use. Both my older Explorers have the easy to use mechanical buttons and they never shut down. Ford only briefly used the hidden buttons on the F150 but returned to...

    Rear Climate control recall

For 2022 models the side rails were a $250 option.

    Seat memory while driving

When your key fob is programmed the seat will move to your position when you touch the door handle to unlock it. But that is not part of MyKey. MyKey is a separate feature to limit certain selected operations of the vehicle. Linking a PreSet Position to your Remote Control Your vehicle can save...

What is missing on the 2022 ST from factory

Just curious here. I had never noticed the difference in side rails for later years. Can you take a picture of the 2020 rails? Picture here is my 2022. Thanks.

    Taillight Mods

Locally we have traffic cameras that can be viewed on line. I have seen many vehicles look like the headlights are flashing on and off. You can see lots of videos on line about the Explorer and it looks like the DRLs are flashing rapidly. All this is just the frame rate of the camera giving a...

    Sync 3 update

The upload to show you updated sync and map does not work. I did both a few weeks ago and could never get their system to show I had done that. I also tried multiple times.

    Rear Camera Washer/Jet

I wonder what the title is for the guy at Ford whose job is to come up with things to delete (not shortage related stuff)? Camera washers, glove box/console lights, undercarriage splash shields, cup holder lights, structural sub-frame bolts, windshield wiper heaters, floor consoles, owner...

    Rear Camera Washer/Jet

The rear camera washer was not deleted. The front one was deleted beginning with 2021 models.

Help with sorting out a potential Explorer ST order

The on-line order system is never fully accurate in descriptions or availability. While it lets you select the auto-stop removal, it has never been actually available for the 3.0L engine in the ST. The only information to go by for accuracy is the regularly updated dealer order guide available...

    Used ST's

The only difference between the 2021 and early production 2022 is the deletion of the cup holder lights and the floor cup holder between the rear captain chairs. Fold out cup holders were added to the back side of the front console to replace that. Everything else is the same. I have the...

    Used ST's

All model explorers with the 3.0L V6 have the 20 gallon tank. Only the ones with the four cylinder or the hybrid engines get the 18 gallon. My 2022 does have the premium technology package with massage seats. That is one of the things deleted midyear. The heated windshield on the 2020 is...

    Interior question..

It was a 2022 midyear addition to the ST option sheet. The ST-Line has had red stitching from the start.
