What Breaks at what power levels?

How long before we see an aftermarket carrier with dual high-durometer bushings address the issue? Hint, hint. Edit so as not to extend this about differential probs, since there are two other threads on this matter. If you remember back to pre-pandemic on the 2020s, Ford was selling way more...

What Breaks at what power levels?

And, just for grins, take a look at LokiWolf et al, putting down 500 lb/ft of torque on 93. If we had enough turbo (and other V/E improvements) to maintain that type of airflow at 7000 rpm we could estimate 500*7000/5252 or 666 hp on 93 pump gas!

What Breaks at what power levels?

A couple of things- the ST does have (info from interweb) a forged crank, forged rods, and piston squirters. @ZFGracing does have a thread on here about the 3.0 piston where he verifies the piston squirters. He considers the 3.0 piston as better than the Ford 2.7 which according to him had pin...

What Breaks at what power levels?

Do my five midget grandkids count? LOL, I'm just pointing out that I'd pick something that had a lot more cubic inches, forged internals, and a couple more cylinders.

What Breaks at what power levels?

You hear crickets since for the majority of people buying a 3 row SUV, a mid-hi 13s 1/4 mile with good handling is enough. A very small percentage have gone ahead and done a tune- which is enough for mid-hi 12s with no other mods. As far as I know, only a handful of people have actually pushed...

    New hpfp and injector option!

Thanks for the clarification. It seemed like you were suggesting the current platform used a viscous connection to drive the front differential. I see now the poster was confused between the older transverse platform and the current non-transverse platform.

    New hpfp and injector option!

From the 2020 Explorer Service Manual: Transfer case The Transfer Case is a gearbox that attaches to the output shaft of the transmission through a splined input at the transfer case. Torque from the transmission is transferred to the rear driveshaft through the transfer case mainshaft. When...

Autostop eliminator or Forscan it away

Push the button that turns it off when you start the car? I mean, doesn't it suck that you have to push the "start" button to turn the car on? Don't even get me started on the seatbelt! Seriously, there is an autostart eliminator you can buy, it's about 100.00.

    Wheels and Tires

I've had my 2020 for over 18 months. No rattles, no squeaks. YMMV. Not the most plush leather or greatest interior, but everything else is top notch. Go drive one, don't post on the internet for random input.

    Wheels and Tires

I'm talking about off-road and on-road. No comparison...not that the outbacks aren't nice vehicles, but the ST is better in every single way. As far a high winds, I'm not sure any vehicle would claim that high mph crosswinds aren't a problem.

It's certainly as capable (and much faster) than an outback! (former outback and baja owner).

    New hpfp and injector option!

Are you saying that the ST has a viscous coupling in the transfer case? I think you are wrong.

    New hpfp and injector option!

I didn't say it was impossible, just extremely difficult. I googled both of those engines, and didn't see hp numbers out of the Aston, but did see the 654 from the Ferrari. As far as trickery, they do have 8000+ redlines and dry sumps, and likely (didn't find info) heavily head-based cooling...

    3.0 dimensions

LOL, I thought you were posting to be funny (sand car, ha ha) so I responded in kind. But since you seem to be serious, what dimensions? With turbos or not? How about exhaust and intake manifolds, fuel pump, turbo piping, radiator, etc, etc, etc. What trans would you use- do you need an...

    3.0 dimensions

29x21x14x32 It can't not fit in your sand car unless you never don't fit it not.

    New hpfp and injector option!

The honest truth is that it is extremely difficult to produce more than 200 hp/liter on 93 octane. So for the ST, that would be approx 600 crank hp. I'm not familiar with the limits of the stock fuel system, but you'd need north of 5 lbs/min with the added caveat of flow rates of the injectors...

    Sync 4

I have never downloaded an app to my phone...including FordPass. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I value my privacy. 90% of my browsing is incognito mode. And no, I've never been convicted of a felony!

    Sync 4

Just like you can now control your home systems from your phone, your TV and entertainment system from your phone, ad nauseum. Your seating preferences, key, everything will be on your phone. And you can bet- every frigging thing you do, everywhere you visit, how fast you drive, on and on; all...

    Rear end damage

I followed the previous thread on this same problem with some interest just from a forensics POV. It's definitely an engineering change since not only was one bolt/bushing removed on passenger side, but the driver's side bushing was changed as well. It very well could be for a $20 savings...
