Best tires and rim size for racing

Sounds about right. I will look into it closer to the completion date. The brakes are great but the air suspension will never outperform coils; hoping we can tune it to perform better without overstressing the bags. If we can get them to be at a high PSI while lowered, it should reduce the...

    Cold air intakes 25 ST

Wouldn't surprise me if they wanted to make sure the warranties expire before letting people tune these after all the diff bolt failures they had to replace. Saving pennies ended up costing them a lot dollars.

Best tires and rim size for racing

Ideally both. I'm being told I'm getting ahead of myself and should focus on suspension before tires though. I don't mind it being slow for a track car, but want to handle reasonably well and increase the G-force by 0.1-0.2 on a skidpad test without switching from the air suspension to...

Best tires and rim size for racing

It has two Xona 5451S turbos. The plan is to downsize to 4951S. Not trying to ever run a tune higher than 825whp | 825lb/ft until someone else pushes the engine further and finds the limit though so I was hoping to get the flattest power curve that could make 800whp reliably...

MBRP Axleback or MRT H-Pipe and Tips?

Custom X-pipe exhausts sound beautiful on the ST. Worth asking how much that would run you if you know a good shop. https://www.instagram.com/reel/C7Ff_TiRSAS/?igsh=MXJwNGl5Y21pbm16MQ== https://www.instagram.com/reel/C7abopVMvmN/?igsh=eTdnaXVqNGp6b2I4

Down sizing from stock 21" wheel to 20"

If you are planning to put the Shelby GT350 brakes on, I would go an extra 5mm on the offset. A member with 20x10.5 wheels on a +35mm offset had to use a 10mm spacer to make them fit. 30mm would most likely clear those brakes but the 25mm creates an ever-so-slightly more aggressive look.

Shot a promo for Houston Speed Freaks of the Under Tray

It will improve aerodynamics and protect the bottom from corrosion which is a major concern in the Midwest. HSF just released a carbon fiber version today that's on sale for $1,400. HSF together with ZFG, Fenfab and RSA have done so much for the platform that I would never argue about price...

They redesigned the front control arms to be slimmer so I'm hoping that would solve any issues. We really need to see a review of their updated version to know for sure. I really don't like to see people having issues with earlier versions of their parts, but if it can happen to Steeda, it can...

Best tires and rim size for racing

Agreed. Seeing the aftermath of Explorer wrecks is very confidence inspiring, these things are tanks. Pretty much have everything covered except control arms and confidence-inspiring coilovers. I had front end-links replaced about 300 miles ago with the Steeda's and will be looking checking to...

SLD 21" Stock Rims Free to a Good Home (Atlanta Metro)

Labels sent, please let me know if there is any other way I can help. My main shipping service got shut down out of the blue and I had to scramble to create an account with another company.

Best tires and rim size for racing

100% agree with all of your points. I'm not trying to be the first one to hit 200mph unless there's a tempting financial incentive. All the data points to it being a reasonable expectation with all the new parts. I just want to make sure I'm overbuilding it for my goal which is a reliable...

Best tires and rim size for racing

Definitely agree with the aerodynamics being suboptimal. One thing I have to point out is that the coefficient of drag is surprisingly low on the ST (0.35) The following cars have worse aerodynamics than the Explorer ST and are getting very close to 200mph. Lamborghini Urus SE c/d 0.39 (top...

Best tires and rim size for racing

That's were things get interesting. I hit 170mph on a 93 tune with the stock block and it took about 5 seconds to go from 165mph to 170mph. But, doing that without a total suspension overhaul was a terrible idea in retrospect, more on that... ZFG is building blocks that have forged rods...

Best tires and rim size for racing

What do you think about high speed stability (i.e. taking corners at 150mph+)? Top speed is aerodynamically limited to 170mph until I can get a functional front splitter installed so I was thinking it would be beneficial to have slightly smaller wheels. It can definitely hit 180mph+, but the...

SLD 21" Stock Rims Free to a Good Home (Atlanta Metro)

Yes, I use a 3rd party called https://rktship.rocksolidinternet.com usually 10-20% less than standard UPS/FedEx/USPS pricing. USPS is charged up front but FedEx and UPS are billed after it's weighed in their system and updated. They will upcharge or lower the cost if the dimensions and weights...

Best tires and rim size for racing

Definitely a concern, I asked ZFG for advice and will report back. Seems like updating the wheel size through Forscan or SCT will help. Mainly concerned about the ABS performance assuming that ZFG tuning can solve the engine RPM issue even if updating the wheel size via Forscan doesn't help...
