    What Brand of Gas?

Shell has been the best in my mustang. Knock sensors often add timing with Shell's 91 V-power but pull timing with Chevron's 94 octane according to my data logs. Shell's 91 octane in Canada has the same RON octane number (99 RON) as shell's 93 in the states does.

    H&R springs now available

Did they do the ol' toe n' go? Did they even check the rear camber? One of the members on another board said that the steeda springs put their vehice in the "yellow" for rear camber as well.

    H&R springs now available

Progressive means that the spring rate varies as the coil compresses, linear means that X amount of pressure will compress the springs X amount. Progresives tend to have a more supple ride as the first few coils are quite soft so they are better at absorbing small imperfections. The downside...

    H&R springs now available

The H&R are a progressive spring and the steeda are a linear spring. I doubt there are many out there that have driven both for any length of time so the comparison will have to wait.

    Drop springs and alignment.

The previous generation had a bit of play in the inward bolt of the UCA. Have you tried backing it off to see if there is any play available there?

What did your Ford Explorer ST replace?

For fun, here are my previous explorers: 2005 Limited, Groundforce springs, Billet Grilles, Magnaflow exhaust, K&N CAI, LED tails, clear corners, etc... On very dated 22's back in 2010: Same one in 2016 on 20" wheels: My 2017 Ex Sport, just a tune and wheels

Just finished the ST experience in Utah - lots of fun

I just hope they allow an extended period that we can use it within seeing as the border is closed. I'll do the Park City one once the border is open and the US gets a better grip on controlling infection.

That is a lot for the rear. Plus when you are accelerating, you are going to lose more contact patch when the vehicle squats. Hopefully the camber bolts work. I am sure SPC will have something else soon if it can't be done with the bolts.

How is the rear toe? A lot of vehicles can run -2° camber if the toe is adjusted accordingly without excessive tire wear. What that would be on the explorer ST won't be known until a few people have eaten a set of tires or 2. My SVT focus is an example; If the toe is not dialed in, it will...

This Ford ST is turning out to be a major piece of SHI*!!

My 2017 explorer sport was no stranger to the dealership for warranty issues. Most were cosmetic but QC was not that good on it. Sometimes it just is luck of the draw. I agree about your hate for your previous sport. I found mine a bitch to park in a regular parking stall, the seating...

I'll take a linear spring over a progressive. I'll trade feeling the odd expansion joint to get more predictable response.

No worries, it takes a while to figure people out on a new message board. I went too low with my 2005 explorer and had a bad experince. At least on the mustang boards, everyone sees mustangs as a blank canvass or a good starting point, things can still get a bit heated but that's just the...

Violent downshifts / "scrambling" upshifts -- anyone else experiencing this?

I may have mis-spoke, the Navigator and Expedition may use the same transfer case, I do not know. Either way, it is more cost effective for dealers to simply swap the parts so the chances of getting a tear down are pretty slim.

Violent downshifts / "scrambling" upshifts -- anyone else experiencing this?

Quite often when ford (and many other manufacuters) puts out a new transmission model, dealers are instructed to swap it out as a whole unit so that ford engineers can tear it down to determine the issues. The Explorer and the Aviator are the first models to use this particular transmission and...

    H&R springs now available

Way off... I get that the Steeda springs for the previous explorer sport didn't meet your expectations, heck, I wish they'd went a bit lower too but there is still a market for what they sold the spring as: a spring that didn't sacrifice towing and could still go off highway. It is a 6 seat...
