COBB Accessport - Goosetuned Tuning thread

ST parts are expensive man. Fuel pump is 5K, plus injectors and other components. Mustangs are great due to the aftermarket potential. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Considering 2025 ST but concerned with reliability

On the contrary, the new models of the X3M and X5M platforms are super reliable. The X3M has similar, sometimes less of a repair cost than an ST. The X5M, however, with the air suspension and other features, it gets expensive. The suspension alone is an easy 5K out of warranty. For instance, my...

COBB Accessport - Goosetuned Tuning thread

Need a complete fuel system, so be prepared to spend close to 10K with all of the upgrades. Lot of people show there is no major difference in running E60 vs E85, so it's not worth the fuel upgrades. You mix E85 with 93 Octane and you will get your E30-E60 mix. ZFG has a calculator on their...

Considering 2025 ST but concerned with reliability

This all depends on you. If you have deep pockets, get something other than an ST if you want a luxury vehicle with all of the trimmings. Coming from a 16' Durango R/T I bought new and owned for 7 years, my 20' ST is a rattle can that has had its share of issues. Already replaced the front...

COBB Accessport - Goosetuned Tuning thread

Since winter is here now, I will be buying the tuning packaging in the next couple of months when the weather gets better.

COBB Accessport - Goosetuned Tuning thread

Hey Goose, Thinking about making the switch from ZFG. Some questions for you, if I may. Do I need to unlock the ECU or just return it to stock? Are your tunes flexible to run E30 from time to time, or is a separate file required? Thank you! -Chris

    Concerning 0-60 Times

Just went at it again and did 4.24 0-60. 230lb driver, 3/4 tank, launching at about 3K with the tires spinning. Honestly put me in my seat. Much more room for improvement, especially with some suspension and E30, E50 if I ever grow balls. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    2022 Tires Worn Already?

I did not. They were over 50 miles one way and were not easy to deal with. Mind you, I do drive the ST hard, so that is probably a reason why. Bought some Michelin Pilot 4s (all seasons) and they are 10x better than the Continentals.

    2022 Tires Worn Already?

I bought my ST used with 40K miles and the dealer installed brand new Continental tires. After 11K miles, the tires were worn out. I rotate every 5-6K miles and keep them around 33PSI.

    ST vs. The Competition

You must have gotten the deal of a lifetime on your ST for that price. Few differences: X3M - No third row, but is only a few hundred pounds lighter than an ST. Non-comp version is 70K, not much more than the ST new for new, and runs low 12's, high 11's stock. X5M - Weighs over 800 pounds...

    Concerning 0-60 Times

LMAO I did pussyfoot a bit, scared to break shit. I did 5.2 stock, with a passenger and just mashing the gas without brake torqueing the car. .4 seconds faster is sad, really. Older I get, the more scared I am of breaking things. Racing mustangs before, I would break axles on hard launches...

    Concerning 0-60 Times

Hey, The other day I decided to do some data logging to send back to my tuner and decided to use Dragy to test some things out. Best I was able to do in sport mode was 0-60 in 4.8 seconds. Didn't want to go the full 1/4 mile. Launched at about 2K RPM's, softly, 230LB driver plus a...

    Took the ZFG plunge

Brand new fluid and fill up about a month ago. Trans still shifts as hard as it feels getting rear ended. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Took the ZFG plunge

I currently have ZFG and am not overly satisfied with the results and turnaround. Trans still bucks from 1-2 in "race" mode and I was told by ZFG that the trans needs to learn. Usually, tune updates take a week, sometimes longer. Overall, the tune is better than stock and I do notice a big...

High Mileage Explorer STs check in!

Nice to see the actual high mileage guys (100K+), which shows the longevity of the STs, Going on 55K on my 20' ST. Recall on 360 done, purge valve replaced. No major issues (knock on wood). Currently a daily driver, averaging 250-300 miles a week.

    ST vs. The Competition

X5MCs are about 70-75K used with low miles. Considering they are lightyears ahead of STs in terms of tech, quality and comfort, they do not run cheap. I am looking at an X3MC which are about 60K used with low miles. Tune/Downpipes, they are running 10s consistently.

Thermal 3" Catback with Stock Downpipes, then CVFab Downpipes after?

I started with the Thermal 3" exhaust, and decided it was not loud enough and added the CVFab downpipes. After a tune with the downpipes added, I did notice more power out of the car than previously before. Definitely worth the upgrade, plus the sound is awesome to boot.

    SLD Engine Cover -- SOLD

Curious - any pictures of this when it is on the car and if it will fit under a STB without issue?
