Best tune for 2020+ Ford Explorer ST

And you're right and it's not a reason. My ST is still stock.

Best tune for 2020+ Ford Explorer ST

On the contrary, I see a lot of posts of many trying to dodge detection of PCM flashing and questions about keeping their warranty after various mods. I agree with your view point on Ford protocol protecting their warranty but on the other hand, it seems in my recent experience that Ford is...

    Recall Rear Bolt Fracture?

Thank you sanc1384! Much easier than Ford leads you to believe! Just another attempt to get in your pocket for $170. Shame on them!

Best tune for 2020+ Ford Explorer ST

Don't know how this applies to the newer technology of today but as far as warranty concerning PCM tuning, back in the day, when I was running a Supra, I could interchange the ECU/PCM. One was modded and the other stock. If I were to bring it to the dealer, I would simply unplug the tuned ECU...

    Recall Rear Bolt Fracture?

I'm not sure of "any" of these companies except for the fact that they're always gunning for your pocket. It's one thing when you have to deal with planned obsolescence but when they cut corners so badly it creates unsafe conditions, it makes you see that all priorities go out the window in the...

    Recall Rear Bolt Fracture?

2020 here. I went to the stealership and service looked up my VIN and told me the bolt problem doesn't apply to my SUV. In fact, the only recalls that show up for this one are the cameras. He then told me that Ford can't fix those because they no longer make the parts! :-o I then asked him if...

    Ford Performance Tune

Most of the time I'm daily driving and rarely use sport mode. I don't mind the auto stop feature to save fuel but can turn it off at the press of a switch. I was asking because I wanted to make sure I wasn't confusing it with the "stop/go" feature in the ACC. Thanks for the reply!

    Intelligent Cruise

Yes, the problem is, mine can suddenly change the "set" speed without changing the "speed limit" speed. Meaning, it's not adjusting to the variations of speed limits on the road when it changes my set speed.

    Ok, thanks for answering that!

    Intelligent Cruise

Does it just change your rolling speed or does it also change the little speed limit icon on your dash?

    Intelligent Cruise

Thanks for the hit! The only problem with not using intelligent is I rely on the stop/go feature which I understand only happens in the intelligent mode? I don't mind it misreading signs but it's just a little frustrating when it settles into the speed you set it at and then changes its mind...

Good find on the struts! Thanks for posting!

    Intelligent Cruise

Hi All, I've read a few stories of ST owners and their ICC misreading 35mph signs for 85mph and I've experienced the same. What I'm not understanding is when I set a speed and moments later, the ICC changes to a higher rate of speed for no apparent reason, even if the speed limit hadn't changed...

    Ford Performance Tune

Stock ST is already in the 13s. Also bear in mind how far 30hp is going to get you. That's the extent of an FP tune.

Are you speaking of the AUTO STOP that occurs when you come to a stop at a traffic light and such?

Waido Hitch Cover with lower exhaust enclosure

I like all of the above! Is the hitch cover easily removable if you need to tow?

2020 Explorer ST vs 2018 Jeep Trackhawk

Don't know what was expected here but the Hawk has over 700hp stock, the ST 400. Do the math. It sounded like the ST had some work but I don't know of any that would come close without a full upgrade with turbos, injectors, fuel pump, intake, exhaust, intercooler etc. Even then, has anyone even...

    Replacing Brakes

Only used service mode for the rear brakes. Did the front without with no problems or warnings. Someone else would have to chime in as far as clearing your warnings. Good luck!

    Replacing Brakes

Update: I have successfully completed the rear brake job, thanks to all who chimed in! Putting the ST into brake service mode allowed me to retract the caliper pistons. I had to manually compress them but did it by hand in opposed to using mechanical pad spreaders. The pistons had arrows on them...
