New motor, hallelujah. 2020 Explorer ST.

I had a MK6 GTI that burned about 1qt every 1200 miles. It was considered normal by the dealer. So I always kept a bottle on hand just in case I didn't get to my 5k mile oil changes on time. Hopefully not the case with my ST. My wife's ST doesn't seem to lose any and she is at 17k miles. I...

    Ceramic Coating Sprays

If you are like me and wash your car on a weekly basis, I found the following combo works great and honestly the water beading, sheeting, and protection seem on par with my wife's ST that has CeramicPro (actual ceramic coating). I don't have a gloss meter, but, when both cars have been cleaned...

New motor, hallelujah. 2020 Explorer ST.

I'm curious how long was it from the time you ran out of oil to your last oil change? I checked my oil the other day and it was almost bone dry and I was just shy of 5k miles since my last oil change. I'm due for an oil change in a week or two, so I'm going to double check it again and check...

ST Puddle Light - Fell Off

Yup, still works. Oddly enough, yesterday i remember the piece being loose, and today when I went to go mess with it, it's solid in place. I'm leaving it alone until it pops out again, if it does, i have clear silicon I can put on lol. Thanks!

ST Puddle Light - Fell Off

Has anyone ever had their puddle light fall out and dangle by the wire? As I was driving yesterday on the highway, suddenly out of the corner of my eye I saw something dangling under the mirror. When I got home I popped it back in, but, it's very loose. Looking at pictures online, it looks like...

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

I didn't know Off Roam has a mount for our Explorer's. I have the ProClip and my only complaint is that it blocks the vent and in my car, the mount has fallen numerous times. I finally reached out to them and they sent me another vent mount piece and that one seems to have a better fit. I had a...

    Tire recommendation

    Battery cost from Ford

Sorry to hi-jack thread, I'm looking to replace the original battery on my 2020 very soon. How does one reset the BMS?

    Error Messages

Get it scanned for codes for free at AutoZone or a local parts store that offers it. OR you can buy a OB2II dongle on Amazon and download an app on your phone to do it. This will help narrow down what errors are being reported.

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

I bought my 2020 used with low miles. Original owner never took care of any of the TSBs or recalls. Bought it summer of 2023. I have been dealing with this whistling sound ever since lol... Thanks for posting, I will have to try this!

    Interior Rattle / Clicking Noise

This is what was causing this sound in my wife's ST. It started after she was rear-ended and all parts used were Ford parts. I wanted to avoid having to drive back out to the body shop, crawled under and tapped on the rear bumper on the driver side, and found the heatshield was making a noise. I...

    What is this doodad?

Something broke and with dumb luck, might not be cheap either. Check if all the features for your seat work. Searching that PN, the only thing that matches it, is something for the lumbar support. If everything works and you're still curious, it might be best to just remove the seat and flip it...

    Transmission woes

I picked up the car today. They did a bunch of testing, reseating, tracing, checking connectors, and re-installing the OSS, and after 75 miles of them driving it (I approved an extended test drive), no codes. Hopefully, this is the end of this saga!

Oil leaking from somewhere but not engine

FADA (front axle disconnect actuator) leak. Covered under the powertrain warranty. They replaced the seal on mine (2020) not long ago at 28k miles. They noticed when I got an oil change and suggested I bring it back. A couple of weeks went by and one morning I spotted some oil on the ground...

    Transmission woes

Received an update from the SA yesterday evening. The tech strongly believes it is a connection issue somewhere. They have been inspecting/testing the wiring and plugs and reseating anything that is related to the code(s). I asked the SA if he can get me the codes that the vehicle was reporting...

    Transmission woes

I dropped off the car this morning, and now to play the waiting game. The good news (bad news), on the way there, the transmission was getting stuck in certain gears again and the wrench light was coming on and off way more than before. I got lucky and caught all green lights on the last 5...

    Transmission woes

yeah, giving them another shot. Besides this, they have been really good to me, even their sales dept. Today I was driving it and the transmission started acting up again. While it was going 30-40mph, I put it into manual mode and shifted gears, but, rpm’s never changed or felt the gears...

    Transmission woes

So I picked up the car today. As I was driving home, the wrench light turned on for a minute and back off. This time I got a notification from FordPass app. I turned around and headed back to the dealer. SA checked and said maybe the systems are still calibrating. Car drove fine, he said to give...

    Transmission woes

Got an update from the dealer. They diagnosed it as a bad output shaft sensor. They ordered the part and I should have the car back early next week.
