Should I spend an extra $300?

The new Alena's have a crazy good warranty. Not sure how @21BlackST ran through them so quick. They have an 80k from Bridgestone which was part of why I went with them initially. They ride amazing but my set was insanely noisy for some reason. I have had many sets of Bridgestones and never had...

Question on Unique Engine Auto Start Stop

Odd that it doesn't light up. Figured someone just installed an eliminator already. You will get a notice on the dash when you start the car. It will pop up saying that the ASS has been disabled. If its not showing up at all maybe someone did something more permanent to turn it off.

    Ceramic Coating Sprays

It really just comes down to longevity of the product. Anything spray on is going to depend on how much ceramic product is in it. The higher the content, the higher the price and better results you'll see. Like with most things your results will depend on the prep work you do. Correct the...

Have you considered installing a custom-built rooftop kayak rack that attaches securely to your sunroof without the need for roof rails, allowing you

My experience only being other cars and snowboards...I feel like, without roof rails, may negate any safety aspect without a proper trailer.

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

Had same question about how its held in place. Love the clean install and utilizing a spot that isn't good for much else. Hopefully that cable end holds up.

Glad you were able to get two off. Used to tell people all the time when I worked in the shop, you live in the midwest...anything metal will corrode at some point. The look isn't worth it.

    Best Oil Catch Can

I always thread mine off and empty it once a month. Not very much in there usually. Didn't like how full it got when I went to each oil change so just when I remember each month.

Unfortunately the people selling the services or writing you up are not always well versed on what they're offering. You asking for something beyond what the book is telling them throws them off. The idea of preventative maintenance seems to be something foreign to the dealerships cause the book...

I can relate. I swear I tore my rotater cuff the firs time I did it. Shoulder hurt for weeks lol. Just like with anything thats applied or coated its all in the prep. Do yourself a favor if you decide to try again and get a wheel brush for your drill. Got a nice nylon bristle brush that attaches...

    DIY Brake Change

You can save yourself a ton of work and take @Cruising68 up on that offer. That would be a couple more steps work than from chasing pads and rotors but you're taking them off anyways. Might as well get some calipers already painted and a slight upgrade.

    DIY Brake Change

Doing your own brakes is a great entry to doing your own service. Requires minimum tools, tons of videos and help online (youtube & here). Unbroken mentioned the service mode...beyond that just pay attention to your lift points and enjoy the money savings with a job done yourself! Even being...

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

I'm surprised since I couldn't wait to do these new tires. Had such good results with my fusion. I agree on the shine level. I did two coats on last tires and had perfect matte finish. Little shinier than I would have liked, tires just took less to dress this time around. When it fades a bit I...

Yeah thats the idea. Once applied you can lit wash off any dirt that gets on it. I did this on my fusion prior and had great results. Don't have to touch the tires for months.
