    400A vs 401A package... Confusion when building a 2022

Funny, after 20 years of driving with “normal” cruise control, I tried adaptive/intelligent cruise and hated it so I turned it off. Meh, to each their own.

    Plate name ideas

Mine is “GO AHD” but I’m a fire dispatcher so that’s a radio lingo tribute and nothing to do with the vehicle lol.

    Front windows won't rollup

I know you said they started working again, but when they were acting up, would they not go up at all or they would go up then roll back down a bit?

Eco vs Normal in city driving

Only use I have for Eco is in bumper to bumper traffic, makes the stops and starts less herky jerky since the throttle response and shifting is gentler.

    Axle oil change

Fair to say a lot of factory-fill fluids look bad because of additives they contain for break-in management etc etc

    Axle oil change

My dealership says to do all the driveline fluids including transmission fluid every 50,000-60,000km (31,000-37,000mi) and that agreed with my own logic and professional past experience, so I’ll be servicing them roughly every 50k. I do not believe in “lifetime fill” fluids, experience has...

    Ford Raptor Grille for Explorer

Just noticed this comment now. My brain is now struggling with this mental picture.

    Driver's Side Window Issue

Mine did this a few times. Held it up as it rolled up then kept holding it for like 10 seconds once it reached the top, hasn’t done it since.

Can Reverse Brake Assist Be Tuned Off?

    Interesting. I must try that.

    Power tailgate/liftgate issue

My writeup on how to disable it. https://www.explorerst.org/threads/tailgate-disabling-the-kick-to-open-or-close-motion-feature-full-pictures.1938/

Can Reverse Brake Assist Be Tuned Off?

Do you use the parking sensors? If not it’s very fast to just hit the button on the dash, disable both them and the reverse brake assist at the same time. After a while it becomes muscle memory & very routine - I speak from personal experience. Doing it from the settings menu is painful as f*ck.

Can Reverse Brake Assist Be Tuned Off?

They must have made that change for the 2021s then. My 2020 turns all the nannies back on at every startup. Nice to hear they updated that…wish it would come out as an update for the 2020’s, although I’m just as happy turning off the parking sensors anyway as I can’t stand all the...

Can Reverse Brake Assist Be Tuned Off?

Is yours a 2021? Wondering if that was a software update they made. No matter how many times I turned it off in settings, mine would come back on the very next startup (mine is a 2020).

Can Reverse Brake Assist Be Tuned Off?

Not as a default no, unless there is a way to due it through Forscan. Easiest way it to turn off the parking sensors with the button on the dash at each start.

Tried the auto parallel park feature...

    Well that’s reasonable at least.

Tried the auto parallel park feature...

Until that one asshole comes and parks right beside you in a lot full of empty spaces lol.

Tried the auto parallel park feature...

I’ve tried it for a gag and it works alright but it’s painfully slow. I can P-park faster so I just do it myself. Even though I grew up watching Knight Rider and believing in a car that could drive itself, I don’t trust it and I hate waiting for it so I just do my own parking.

    Grinding noise from steering wheel

Sounds like probably a little plastic worm gear lr something as part of the adjustable steering column not working right/defective.

My tailgate is possessed. I need a priest.

Don’t think that’s the case. Not positive, but the whole point of the motion sensing tailgate is for you to be able to walk up with arms full of groceries and other such shit and open the tailgate without ever having to use your hands. The keyfob just needs to be in proximity for the car to let...
