    Ford Performance Tune

Finally installed the Ford Performance tune today. I picked it up at Lethal and the local ASE certified mechanic installed it for $55. I was pleasantly surprised that the automatically applied parking brake "safety" feature was not included in the tune. Cheers.

    My ST died today

Sorry, I caught that. I was responding to Autoworker. Glad your issue had an easy fix. I just hooked up the charger to mine tonight.

    My ST died today

Could it be an automatic update connecting to wi-fi? That would drain the battery. Wouldn't it?

    Stock 20" Width?

It looks like a 295/50R20 can also fit on an 8.5" rim. I am not endorsing it will work with an ST, but should be safe to mount.

    Stock 20" Width?

The tire size calculator site does provide information on widths. It says a 285/50R20 and 285/55R20 can go on an 8" to 10" rim, so I think 285 is okay. I would confirm with the literature of whatever brand you choose that it is okay too, but I think you are okay to use it size wise.

    New SYNC Update 23188

Did my update last night too. Had to do via USB as wi-fi method would not find the update. Didn't have any issues with other version and this version is working fine too.

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

My wife gets mad when I say that exact statement. Now I can tell her it is not just me. Thanks.

    New Sync 3 Version 3.4.22251

My unicorn is a 2020 with no issues to date (knock on wood) and running 22251 with no issues. I am just about to pass the 3 year time limit on the bumper to bumper warranty, so a little nervous.

    Wider tires?

Some wheels have indents in the back that allow the studs to protrude a little. Have a look first.

    Park brake automatically on

A truly flat surface is hard to find. Maybe a still lake or an ice rink, but never a road or parking lot. Even my garage has a slight slope to drain any water that drips off, thus the vehicle always rolls back and puts pressure on the parking pin. It is a lot easier for me to service the brakes...

    Parking brake automatically engages

Oh I would definitely keep using it but when you stop and think that instead of only using it maybe once or twice a day you're Now using it perhaps a dozen times a day. I'm working on cars for over 40 years and I always instruct people to regularly use their parking brake so that it doesn't...

    Parking brake automatically engages

[IQUOTE="Mad Max, post: 75949, member: 10759"]May not be a big deal until you have to replace those bloody expensive calipers because they're being used in situations where they're not needed. Obviously parking on any sort of incline would warrant the use of a parking brake but when you're on a...

    New Feature?

For sure, my suggestion is to test the functionality of the system. The lane keeping assist is just a fail safe for some one that is inattentive. Yes, lane centering only works when it can find the "center" and with cruise control active and set. I am always interested in automated features as...

    New Feature?

If you drive on a highway with no fog line, with lane keep assist on (lane centering won't work without a line on both sides) and you let go of the steering wheel while heading towards the centerline the vehicle will bounce off the yellow line and then head towards the shoulder and unless you...

    New Feature?

It works either way, you just have to turn it on. Lane centering is turned on with a button on the steering wheel, left side cluster, and is only active when cruise control is on and set. Lane keeping is a safety feature to prevent you from wandering into oncoming traffic or the ditch. Lane...

    New Feature?

That is lane keep assist. It works without cruise control on. Lane centering only works with cruise control on. The button for lane keeping is on the end of the signal control arm. You must have turned it on. Enjoy bouncing between the lines.

    Rear Brake Failure

Could you just go to a local mechanic and have them complete a temporary repair to get you on your way? I avoid the dealer as much as possible and brake relining is a pretty simple repair.
