Those codes are still stored, you can go to most part stores who will pull the codes using a regular DTC reader.

"See Manual", Temp Limp Mode on Launch

This has been discussed in the other thread. One thing we know for sure is that colder air will generate more power. I don't think it has anything to do with the 91 vs 93 octane. https://www.explorerst.org/threads/hard-launch-transmission-disengages.4379/post-58801 If you get the "wrench"...

Safety Recall 22S27 Rear Axle Bolt Fractures

As far as "genetic makeup" as a determining factor...LOL. We've only been driving cars for four generations. It is unfathomable to me how someone would attribute this to genetics...except a fool Looks like the poster I quoted is once again not only posting ignorance, it's on the wrong thread...

He is looking to have the mirror itself tilt down (ground/curb view). This was something my Jaguar XF would do in reverse if that setting was on.

    ST Drivers...Male vs Female

I have never cancelled anyone. You never know what you might learn. To me, canceling or ignoring a member is like a 10 year old covering their ears while screaming "I can't hear you" when you tell them something they don't like. You see it a lot in today's social media culture: Ten year-olds...

    ST Drivers...Male vs Female

Regarding the reduction of 0-60 times, the standard rule of thumb is 1/10 sec for every 10 hp. So a solid 30 hp increase would be at least 3/10 sec, and with the accompanying increase in torque, their could be something closer to 1/2 sec reduction in acceleration times. If only I had a nickel...

aFe Power Momentum GT Cold Air Intake System

Just stop. Nothing you said in that paragraph makes any sense at all. If you're making more power, you're burning more gas- period! "You're engine doesn't have to work as hard to do the same amount of work". That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. I'm not sure whether you're trying to be...

aFe Power Momentum GT Cold Air Intake System

I"m not picking on anyone- I have not met a person yet who spent money on a part and didn't think his butt dyno or in reality wishful thinking didn't make a difference in some way! I'm completely with @GearHead_1 on this point because we see it constantly on this forum. Whether it's a tune, an...

    Hard launch transmission disengages

The power shut down is different than the "bouncing off the rev-limiter" problem. In the case of loss of power, my guess is this is some form of traction control (enabled or not) stepping in. Think about what the ECU is seeing- since the ST does not have LSDs on either axle, there is a big...

Best tune for 2020 Ford Explorer ST

The "butt dyno" is not an objective performance measurement. However, @I Bleed Ford Blue is right. As I mentioned nearly all vehicles since '16 will handle E30 from the factory. Whether that amount of ethanol will increase performance is a different matter.

Best tune for 2020 Ford Explorer ST

If you just throw a few gallons in it and run a Dragy for example, you're going to be disappointed. The ST doesn't have a real-time ethanol sensor. The ECU can quickly adjust the AFR via the wide-band O2 sensors, to adjust for ethanol for stoichiometric, but it also needs EGO to try to sense...

aFe Power Momentum GT Cold Air Intake System

Unless you're looking to add a tune and supporting mods to achieve over 100 added HP, it won't make any discernible difference HP-wise. It also will not add any MPG. It will add a nice look under the hood!

    Goodbye SS, Hello ST!

In case anyone is still reading (lol), someone might also say, yes, but what about the F=MA? Since we're increasing the (A)cceleration of the components doesn't this affect the loss? Well, that's covered because (M)ass stayed the same, which means we increased the (F)orce. It has nothing to...

    Goodbye SS, Hello ST!

We can see on the dyno above that it cost approximately 68 hp to convert between crank and whp. (400 crank - 332 whp = 68 at least on that dyno in whatever gear the pull was made). So, in this case (and remember every vehicle will be slightly different), we can add 68 hp to arrive at a crank...
