Factory 20" ST Wheel +Tire Weight vs 22" Wheel Tire Weight

Wider tires and/or stickier tires may burn more fuel than your stock wheels too.

    Real world mpg

You seem to have generally good driving conditions for fuel economy. My ST averages 19.5 mpg (US). I cruise on the highway and floor it leaving every traffic signal. I have lighter, narrower wheels than the 21" with 275s, and our premium here has no ethanol. Other than that, the vehicle is still...

    Real world mpg

All kinds of things effect fuel economy. Do you carry a lot of extra weight? Stop and go versus uncongested freeway, cruising speed (80 mph versus 70 mph), unnecessary braking (tailgating), coasting to an upcoming stop versus heavy braking, tire type, size, and weight, fuel quality (contains...

Safety Recall 22S27 Rear Axle Bolt Fractures

Exactly. You do not need to know how it works, just that it works through confirmation. Where I live, auto climate control does not cut it. We have five months of winter and our lows hit -40 a few times a year.

Safety Recall 22S27 Rear Axle Bolt Fractures

Auto does not always work in every circumstance. For some reason the auto climate control (in most vehicles) never puts enough air/heat on the windshield during cold weather and it will fog up if you do not use the defrost setting. I wonder why it is they give you that as an option if auto...

Safety Recall 22S27 Rear Axle Bolt Fractures

It seems that everyone cannot/will not release the parking brake in the traditional manner.

    IP address banned

Mine too, but only every tenth time or so. It will go days with no problem and then I am banned for a couple of logins.

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

Good find. Does it actually charge faster than the centre console wireless charger? I find all the built in one does is maintain while you are using the phone.

    Difference between model years

Oh, and I do not drive my ST in the winter. It is kept nice and warm in my garage. Too much salt and chlorides sprayed on the highways. Hopefully it will do better than the average vehicle up here.

    Difference between model years

I am sure issues could arise. I am thinking of an extended warranty, mostly due to all the electronics that could go wrong.

    Difference between model years

I think they made a number of changes mid-year 2020 and mine was one of the last ones built.

    Difference between model years

September 2020 build. 30,000 km so far. I have a recall for the backup camera blue screen, left cat possible crack, and parking break auto on. None of them have been an issue yet.

    Difference between model years

I have a September 2020 ST and I have not (yet, fingers crossed) had any of the many issues brought up on this forum with earlier 2020s. In addition, the later 2020s have safety improvements to the foot area of driver's compartment. And it still has the four bolt rear end. Good luck with the search.

    ST SUV driving experience

Have fun, it is an excellent event. My wife and I had a blast.

FORscan Speedo Recalibration & Tire Sizing

If this information is valid for an ST, this may be a good post to make a sticky.

    Adaptive cruise control

If the cameras cannot see the pavement markings you will lose the lane centering for sure and likely part or all of the lane keeping assist. A curb will not generally work as a fog line, so your lane centering may work in the left lane but not the right if there is no white line on the right.

    Parking brake automatically engages

What does this phrase, "nag anyone who drives my ST", mean? I do not comprehend anyone else driving "my ST".

    Slick Top

I would really like to get rid of my roof rack rails too. Are there any ST owners in Ontario interested in switching out their mouldings for rails.
