New Gibson axle-back kit in the works

That’s the same clip I linked in the very first post. It’s the development vehicle and still has the factory resonator in place. Glad to have knocked it out finally! I did tighten the band clamps down after initial alignment (before adding the tips), but it shifted slightly anyway. I think...

New Gibson axle-back kit in the works

Finally got mine installed today since it was relatively nice (well, if you consider 40° and sunny nice). Great sound, but with the MRT H-pipe, it’s a bit too loud for my tastes, so I’ll have the factory resonator welded back in sometime shortly. Install was pretty straightforward, but I need...

    MRT axle back exhaust option?

Have had it in for several months. Very high quality and maybe a 10% bump in sound level with stock mufflers. Adding the Gibson axle-back to mine shortly. Will see if it is too loud or not, so I may put the resonator back in.

    Ford Performance Tune

Because not everyone wants to "compete" or base the performance of their vehicle purely on a dyno sheet. Plenty of us want to enjoy the vehicle as a daily-driver, tinker with it a bit, and be content that a tune will be compatible with the factory warranty.

New Gibson axle-back kit in the works

Great to hear more, and really a perfect sound for the ST. It was enjoyable talking to the guys at Gibson, understanding they felt a complete cat-back kit was unnecessary since there were no gains and they’d only be taking our money. A lot of these have sold already for good reason. They did...

Sounds great. Looking forward to comparing mine. Thanks for putting that up!

New Gibson axle-back kit in the works

:LOL: Not to worry, I'll get some sound clips eventually. Either will use the iPhone or get my good digital camera out of storage.

New Gibson axle-back kit in the works

I figured that was the case. Probably not a big deal though, since 409 cleans up real easy with ScotchBrite if it starts to get brown at all. This this kit is easy to get at, so it shouldn't take much to wipe it down as necessary for a nicer look. Yeah, mine will be kind of similar to the MBRP...

New Gibson axle-back kit in the works

Great to hear! I'm thinking mine might be a bit too loud with the MRT H-pipe, but will be looking forward to hearing it first. Might just have a local shop weld the resonator back in and enjoy the new mellow sound. Definitely looks much nicer than stock.

New Gibson axle-back kit in the works

The rep at Gibson threw in the shirt for me since I put in the effort to promote the kit on a couple forums as well as some Facebook groups. It definitely helped their sales, which was nice to hear. Got a bit more of a discount on mine, too. Glad your band clamps worked. Mine were too big, so...

    Non-Slip Rear Cargo Liner

Mine was $15 on eBay, but that's why I posted the p/n so it could be searched in other locations. EDIT: still the same place on eBay ---> Ford Escape cargo net

New Gibson axle-back kit in the works

My kit finally showed up today despite being listed for Saturday. Looks great and the tips will be a nice change. Unfortunately, the band clamps I have are one step too large, so I have to run up to NAPA and see if they can exchange them. Was going to install it today, but maybe tomorrow if the...

    Window Deflectors

You don't have to take my word for it, but those low-profile versions really suck. They attach poorly to the driver and passenger doors (many out there have had them fly off), and when you drop the window a 1/2" or so, there is a big gap at the front, which defeats their whole purpose. I put it...

    Non-Slip Rear Cargo Liner

Should have mentioned that the net I have is actually listed for the '13-'20 Escape, but fits perfectly. I found it on eBay a year or so back and it was dirt cheap (may still be on there). Otherwise, here's the Ford p/n through Tasca...

New Gibson axle-back kit in the works

Sure will - and hopefully better than that one ^^^^^!! Still shows it will be delivered tomorrow, but it’s supposed to be rainy all day. If Sunday is nice, I’ll be on it for sure.

    Explorer ST/Timberline Part Swap

I think the ‘22 models currently on dealer lots (if they are actually still there), won’t have VIN’s that even register in the Ford parts system yet. I’ve found some that were listed as ‘21 models (eBay as well), and those VIN’s should work. Still, some of the parts that are Timberline specific...

    Explorer ST/Timberline Part Swap

There isn't going to be a practical way to fab up any other carrier to fit this chassis, especially from the Mustang. There is serious support on the front end of the Explorer housing. As I mentioned before, the most practical way to put a Torsen diff with the correct 3.58 gears in to an ST is...
