    Oil catch cans

Big deal, it is what it is. They fell short of their insistence that they’d ship earlier as I was told. Why do you care anyway? Some of us waited it out rather than put that JLT stuff on and will be fine.

    Oil catch cans

Golly…my 18,000 mile engine has amazingly not fallen apart without one since then.

    Oil catch cans

The Mishimoto versions are finally shipping. Mine will arrive Tuesday. Much cleaner install that looks more purpose-built, even though it’s about $50 more. https://www.mishimoto.com/baffled-oil-catch-can-kit-ford-explorer-st-2020.html

    MBRP Exhaust

Not restrictive at all. Straight-through flow for both tubes. The early versions were two-into-one, but the update is two-in, two-out. It’s why an axle-back is an easy upgrade that doesn’t drain your wallet, and why Gibson’s kit is what it is.

    MBRP Exhaust

Fantastic sound and a great bang for the buck, just a few posts down: https://www.explorerst.org/threads/new-gibson-axle-back-kit-in-the-works.2885/

New Gibson axle-back kit in the works

Good call on the paint. Mine is filthy right now from salt and winter crud, but I’ll re-adjust the tips down the road when the weather is nice and maybe hit the welds with some high-temp coating as well. Not really noticeable anyway, but something to do while I’m down there. Still loving the kit...

New Gibson axle-back kit in the works

Very nice to hear. Glad this kit continues to move well and get positive feedback. Enjoy the sound of mine more and more each day.

SLD MRT H-pipe - Used for about six months

Pulled this MRT H-pipe off my ST to replace it with a stock system and a Gibson axle-back kit. Used for about six months, with some discoloration, but it is perfectly usable. Had a great sound and bumped the loudness slightly. The only issue with this one is that MRT tack-welded the clamps in a...

Mishimoto's Explorer ST Catch Can R&D Thread

Now that December AND January have passed, those of us that ordered would sure like to see those first. Nice to give one away, but paying customers would be happy to have theirs before a promotion like this goes up. Fingers crossed that February will see the pre-orders taken care of.

New Gibson axle-back kit in the works

Is what worth it? Welding, or the kit itself? If you are asking about the kit, it's fantastic. A perfect sound with zero rasp and no drone. Just put about seven hours of driving on mine over the weekend and wondered if the extra rumble would be fatiguing? Not at all. Really enjoy how it turned...

Forscan fog light as cornering light enabled

This was one of my first changes in Forscan. I like it. Not even sure how I discovered it, but it’s worthwhile.

    ST SUV Experience

It’s been asked many times. The info is right on the window sticker.

    Flex Pipe Upgrade

They are supposedly updated even though the look hasn’t changed. That ST in the video is a real early one with the two-in-to-one resonator, and seems like plenty of the later models with the “revised” exhaust haven’t had problems. My 2/20 build has been just fine too - no rattle.

do you drive your ST in heavy snow

Came from the west side across 480 & 22 this morning, heading out to the Chagrin area briefly - the ST handled it great. Unfortunately the normal 30 minute drive took about 90, but I stayed on the road. Even on some of the side streets that were pretty deep, I had no troubles at all. Not even...

    aFe Exhaust

Not a big deal, really. I got to check out the sound with and without the resonator and mufflers at different times, so it was a good experiment. In the end, the MRT H-pipe was just over $200 and the Gibson kit was less than $500, so it didn’t get out of control. Of course I won’t think about a...

    aFe Exhaust

Has been a hot topic since the ST’s started rolling off the line. It’s one of several parts that have been randomly and arbitrarily left off the vehicles. It looks like more than one exhaust kit out there isn’t going to fit with the deflector, but it’s not like they are must-have items. Glad to...

    aFe Exhaust

On a trivial note, just from a glance, it doesn’t appear that the rear air deflector will be compatible with those tail pipes. With the Magnaflow kit, one pipe touches, but both here look to turn in too tight behind the differential. May not be a big deal for some, but the big empty space...
