    ZFG Launch Strategy

I'm not sure of today's technology by comparison but in the past, brake launching (what we used to call power braking) wreaked havoc on the converter. In fact, I had blown a front seal on the tranny. I rarely had done it so it wasn't previously abused. Are today's converters and transmissions up...

List of common mistakes and issues when increasing performance on Explorer ST platform

Thanks for sharing your technique. Don't have a Quickjack but don't mind checking after a 15 mi run. I saw the Valvoline ULV. There's also an approved full synthetic ULV by Kendall. For argument's sake, I think I'll use the Mercon.

List of common mistakes and issues when increasing performance on Explorer ST platform

Thanks for the reply! So from what I understand, Mercon ULV is the OEM trans oil. The VersaTrans ULV is supposed to be a compatible option but I don't have to use that. Correct me if I'm wrong but is the suck part of the checking procedure just the fact that you have to drive for 15 miles and...

List of common mistakes and issues when increasing performance on Explorer ST platform

I've a couple questions regarding transmission oil and checking. I had been steering clear of Ford dealerships because of past experiences so I've approached a few mechanic shops used in the past. It seems that a few that I've talked to about checking the fluid seemed to balk at the prospect and...

    Build date

Yes, thanks, all good! When I went to car fax, the report offered a lot of info I already had but the sticker wasn't listed in the lineup at present. They wanted $60+ for the report. Monroney Labels had the sticker alone for $9.99.

    What's This Noise?

Def sounds electronic like some kind of alert if that's what you're pointing to.

    What's This Noise?

Yes, coming out of the drive through at the bank, there's a hard left turn and they didn't make it wide enough for an ST to traverse without brushing the front right or rear left tire. I'll have to check on that. Thanks.

Thanks for that! Where would it be found in PDF format?

windshield replacement - go with Ford? or aftermarket?

Where is the switch to activate it? I'm thinking mine doesn't because it was actually built in '19.

    Build date

If you're still looking for the build date, it's located on the driver's side door jam sticker.

    What's This Noise?

Hi All, As of recent, the ST has developed a whistling sound. I don't think it's turbo related because it happens below boost rpm. It seems to come up when I'm cruising around 35-40mph and tac-ing between 1100-1300rpm. It gets a little louder with load but seems to be the only place it...
