I've yet to have any issues with my 23 and it has a Thermal 3in kit. Its been to the dealer twice for work with no issues. My dealer seems to be mod friendly but there is always a risk especially if the aftermarket part contributed to the issue.

I'm almost positive these are VIN locked and can't be reset for another vehicle... Unless something has changed. I have the procal for my now sold Mustang GT and it's locked even after returning to stock.

A tune really seems to wake the ST up but be aware of possible warranty risks. There are tons of posts on here regarding tunes so the search function will be your friend. As for me, I went the exhaust route early... not for performance but my ST was just far too quiet.

I went with the AutoStop Eliminator on my 23 ST. It allowed me to turn it off and keep it off without completely disabling the system. I also have one installed on my wife's 21 Expedition Max. Works flawlessly and I dont have to worry about poorly timed auto events.

You are correct... the write feature requires the extended license but it is supporting a good cause.
