    Key Fob questions

Hi, I was very interested in this idea of locking the fob in the vehicle so I tested it out. Even with the fob sitting in the cupholder, the doors will not unlock by pulling on the handle. The door code works fine to unlock and lock the doors, but I did get a double honk when I pushed the lock...

    Memory Seats

Sorry, I am 6'5" so all the easy exit setting does for me is raise the steering wheel. The seat is already back as far as it goes. I was just happy to find a vehicle with both enough leg room and head room. Cheers.

    Auto Start-Stop disable/turn-off best options??

Hi, I didn't say cooling was an issue, but oil does lubricate the bearings while the turbos are cooling. I was implying that stopping the oil flow while the turbos are cooling can cause issues. And yes, I do allow my vehicle to cool down before I turn it off. I usually drive slowly when...

    Auto Start-Stop disable/turn-off best options??

Hi, On a turbo engine, I think it is a very bad idea to turn off the oil flowing to the turbos to save a little fuel. This is a bad idea made worse with turbos. Cheers, Ron

What don't you like about your ST?

So, owners don't like changing the oil in their ST? It is about the simplist maintenance activity around, except maybe checking and setting tire pressure.

    Automatic headlights

Hi, Not sure how Sync starting up wastes energy. It might use some of the battery reserve that will be easily replaced while driving with absolutely no extra fuel required to recharge the battery. It would be almost nothing compared to actually starting the motor. Cheers, Ron

    Memory Seats

Hi, It sounds like the key fob you are using is programmed for a shorter driver. Did you program your key fob to your preferences? Good luck and safe travels, Ron

    I just don't know thread

Hey Muddydogs, Good description of why at least some safety features should be left as designed. That and not wanting to get beat up. :) Cheers, Ron

    Sunroof vs no Sunroof

Hi, I am 6' 5" and I guess I must be out of proportion because my head was only about a 1/2" away from the roof in an ST with a sunroof. And yes the seat was lowered. I ordered one without the sunroof for that reason alone. Just picture going over a big bump or making an aggressive manoeuvre...

road salt vs your best paint protection

Hi, My paint protection strategy is to leave the ST in the garage during winter time to avoid salt altogether. Cheers, Ron

Converting Yellow Rear Turn Signal Indicators to Red

Hi, My wife prefers the yellow turn signals too. While turn signals may tell people you may be turning ahead, your red brake lights tell them you are slowing down. You don't get rear-ended because the red brake lights work. Cheers, Ron
