    Rear end damage

It doesn't really "lack" any support in the rear as it has what is required according to the manufacturer's design specifications. This is supported by FORD's data where 99.907% of vehicles involved have not experienced issues (235 of 252,936). It's when those design specifications are...

    Rear end damage

Similar to the torque arm, the single rear subframe bolt also works without failure in most cases (99.9071% success rate according to FORD's data).

It's not offensive if you're telling the truth and the person needs a wake up call to set them straight. It's because of people like him that you and I pay more for our cars because of the included manufacturer's warranty costs.

    Correct, it's not just ST's. 265 would be a large amount out of 1,000 (26.5%). 265 out of 250,000 is a tiny fraction (.106%).

Video of Diff Bolt Failure and Fords Response.

My poll on this forum actually over exaggerates bolt shear numbers, as FORD's own data shows much less breakage (.106%) than my poll shows (0.8%).

I'm not buying what you're selling. The "weakness" arises when people abuse their cars and then scream at poor service personnel about it. As far as I'm concerned, FORD should've either voided your warranty or made you pay for the repair. Lastly, you need to man up and personally apologize to...

Poll: How many have experienced a "rear axle bolt fracture" (POLL CLOSED 6-4-22)

That ST was heavily modded and taken down the quarter mile many times. Wouldn't have expected anything different. It's people with stock ST's who are getting unnecessarily worked up over vids like that.

    Rear end damage

That ST 3 bolter was tuned, made lots of drag strip runs, and was using some type of launch control "chip." Results are as expected. Not comparable to stock ST's.

So if someone has a tuned ST that runs 11.9's @ 114 mph, that they regularly run at the drag strip, that uses a launch chip, then the bolt will break. Okay, now I'm pretty confident that my bone stock ST's rear bolt will be good for 100,000 miles. Not being snarky, just the truth.

Seems like the Tire Rack's weight numbers are spot on then. Thanks for checking.

That'd be great. I did an impromptu look at 20" wheels/tires vs. their identical brand 21" wheels/tires on Tire Rack and came up with about 6 lbs. per wheel/tire combo.

Poll: How many have experienced a "rear axle bolt fracture" (POLL CLOSED 6-4-22)

I'm no engineer, but FORD is telling you "yes" (within specified towing limits) as their recall for retail vehicles does not provide structural reinforcement. Common sense tells me if you have a 3 bolter and you don't have a tune or regularly drag race your ST, you should be good to go. But...

NEW Product Alert! The AWR Racing rear diff mount

Good tips, thanks for the vid. Seeing how you've already done it, there's a solid fin in it for you if you install one for me. I know, tempting offer!

    21 ST in the CLE

Thanks for posting your build, I haven't modded any of my vehicles in years so I live vicarously through you. Lol It's funny how the only two options you didn't want (sunroof/roof rails) are the only two options I wanted! For me, the roof "opens up" the interior of the vehicle, and as for the...

Poll: How many have experienced a "rear axle bolt fracture" (POLL CLOSED 6-4-22)

1-127 Okay, it's been a month since the Poll began. Numbers pretty much speak for themselves.

Finally!! After nine months!! My ST is here!

How on earth do people wait 9 months for a vehicle? Lol When I develop an interest, I start searching dealer lots and usually have it in my driveway in less than 2 weeks. Most of the time, in less than 1 week.
