Same here. Used Mother’s products before and switched to Meguiars years ago.

Can Someone Check Something For Me?

Some corporate bean counting cost cutter figured they can save a dollar by not putting them on.

Can Someone Check Something For Me?

You can buy them through parts.ford.com for about 12 bucks for two of them. They will ship them to the dealer for free, and you can pick them up. As for not being part of the build, some people have them, some do not.

    Nice example of painted trim

I do like the look, do they put flex agent in the paint to help it stay on? My stock trim is peppered pretty good in front of the rear wheel opening @ 8000 miles. Those tires are in need of a little tire shine. LOL

Can Someone Check Something For Me?

Picked up the covers from the dealer today. Instead of unbolting the hinge strap, I cut one side of the cover, and slipped it over . The cover snaps in place, and you don't have to unbolt anything. (y)

    Smoking on startup after sitting

Could it be a turbo seal issue? Ford's had problems with those in the past. Burns oil on cold start up.

Can Someone Check Something For Me?

Wonder if it’s tied to a certain build date? Mine was built in August 2020.

Went through some high water and engine won't start.

Hydro lock is a definite possibility. Hope for the best. Heard you guys got hammered with rain yesterday.

Can Someone Check Something For Me?

I’ll have the dealership get them and I’ll put them on. I figure I’ve already paid for them once. Disappointing build quality for such a premium price vehicle.

Can Someone Check Something For Me?

This is the second missing part I’ve found. It was missing the left lower splash guard also. (It had the right one) Anyone else missing these?

Doesn't that look unfinished to you? That's what I thought when I saw mine.

Can Someone Check Something For Me?

Washing the Explorer today and was drying the door jams. Where the hinge strap attaches to the door it looks like the picture below. Both front doors are like this. The rear doors have covers on them as pictured. Can someone check their front doors and see if they have covers? Thanks.

    Bird droppings on paint

Did you give it a good bucket wash with car wash and a cloth? that should take anything with the exception of rail dust and tar off your paint. Factory paint is usually resilient to bird poop.

    Faux Carbon Fiber Dash Trim

I really like the red accent on the dash...that makes it pop!

    Rear Ended

It doesn't take much to add up costs anymore. Luckily he wasn't going fast.

    BG Oil Additive?

I don’t think Ford recommends any additives for the oil. Guessing this is a way for the dealership to make additional money. Give them a call and ask why it was used.
